Summer evening breeze is blue Drawing voices deep from you Lead by a beating heart, What a year and what a night, What terrifying She had promised her horse that she would take him out to the lake if he did well in the shows. Well, the horse had done phenomenally well, and Sienna would live up to her promise. Then again, even if the horse had done horribly in the shows the woman still would have done just the same. "It'll be fun, Light, there won't be anyone out here to come and bother us." She had decided to go abandon the stable's trails all together and come out onto the outskirts of the city, into the natural boundaries of the woods.
The black stallion underneath her was saddleless, the only form of headstall he was wearing was a bitless bridle. It was evident that the two shared an near unbreakable bond, but perhaps that was because they had been together for many years. "Come on, we wanna get there before it gets dark." She smiled slightly as she nudged the horse gently in the sides to get him moving at a smooth trot. She was so gentle and calm to the likes of equine, but if an actual person were to come and talk to her? She'd would quickly change into a spiteful person, a fearful one, so many negative emotions balled up into one person at a given time. But it wasn't her fault..she had good reason..but she'd never tell.
With a sigh the woman allowed the horse to continue on at his pace as she reached up and tied her hair in a messy bun. She was wearing a tank top and a pair of jean shorts, for she too was going to take a dip in the lake with the black Gypsy Vanner. "Whoaa, hold on buddy we're almost there." She cooed gently as the stallion tossed his head and began to prance forward excitedly, scenting the fresh water up ahead. It was only a few lengths more before the pair caught sight of the magnificent lake that was nestled into a clearing, free of any signs of man.
Sienna dismounted her horse and gently removed the hackamore, "Go on and enjoy yourself, no one's gonna stop you." She smiled as the stallion lunged forward, kicking up his heels and plunging into the water without a care in the world. His owner stifled a giggle as she hung the hackamore from a nearby tree, before she stepped aside to wiggle her way out of her jean shorts and tank top, revealing a bikini underneath. No harm done, right? Although before she stepped into the water herself, she took a moment out to observe the stallion as he splashed water around himself, probably scaring the living hell out of the resident fish. Silly horse She thought to herself with a quiet laugh. It felt great to know that the chances of anyone stumbling upon this lake out of the blue was slim to none, or so she hoped.

The walls had provided him with a kind of comfort that dirt and trees lacked. Out here in the bush, off the beaten track had seemed like a wonderful, almost romantic notion to begin with. A handful of broken spider webs and branches to the face later and he was reconsidering the thought. His little mare was being a surprisingly good sport about the whole adventure her ears had given up searching for his voice whenever he spoke, having long ago figured out they were not for her.
His first ride on her was proving to be a huge success on her behalf, now if only he could find a track of sorts and maybe he could begin to repay the favour. With a finger he traced one of the mares many spots along her neck, her white mane was flecked in spots of mud and grass stains, in fact the majority of her was less than sparkling clean. Grooming a horse had never before been his job, it was one he had been surprised to find he actually enjoyed, when he wasn't short on time or course. Today had been one of those days. Late and lost, as if that wasn't a perfect metaphor for his life of late.
Just as he was about to contemplate asking for a trot his phone went off. Surprisingly it hadn't made a noise before and he reasoned he must have stumbled across a tad of reception at last. Apparently the mare beneath him hadn't heard such a nice before and cat leaped an inch in the air. Caught reaching forward to wiggle his phone out of his pocket Chase was flung forward even more. His phone flying off to the side as his legs clamped down in a last desperate attempt to hold on. He knew in that instant that he was gone and before he could process it he lay beside his phone on the leaf cluttered floor. " Well, you won't do that again will you?" He reprimanded himself through fits of laughter. He hadn't fallen off since he was a kid and even then it had been in a much more spectacular fashion. This, well this was just pathetic.
He didn't blame his mare, she was a baby as green if not more so than he was. The fact that she hadn't stuck around to watch him pick himself up from the dirt, was a quality he actually admired. Roles reversed he would probably have done the same thing. Brushing down his ass and running his hands through his hair he picked up his phone, helmet and pride. Starting along the path his horse had taken, hoping she knew the quickest route back towards wherever they had come from. He hadn't walked far, a few short metres in fact before he stumbled along a sight that almost, almost made this whole venture seem worth it. Across the way, on the corner of a body of water stood a girl, a girl in a bikini. Next to a horse of her own. If he could see her, then it stood to reason she had seen everything, better yet had heard everything. As worried as he was about his horse, opportunities like this didn't present themselves every day. Besides, who would he be if he didn't at least introduce himself. He was new around here, people deserved to know who he was.
Not bothering to brush himself down further Chase strode confidently forward, his blue eyes shinning in amusement as he closed the distance between them. The distance had seemed closer in his mind, but wasn't that always the way. Finally coming within talking distance of the stranger he smiled almost apologetically. Then without giving her a chance to yell at him or send him away he spoke. " Hi, you haven't be any chance seen my horse have you?" He knew she hadn't if she had he would have too, but it was as good an opening as any. His tone held a hint of cheekiness behind his usual raspy voice. His Australian accent as thick as the day he landed.

Summer evening breeze is blue Drawing voices deep from you Lead by a beating heart, What a year and what a night, What terrifying Sienna had been too wrapped up in her own two organism world composed of only herself, and her horse, to be able to notice anything else in the wood. She had assured herself that there was no one else out here, nor would anyone else be coming way out here. She was safe, for the moment, from fears of dallas, from fears period.
Her hopes would have held true, if not for the sound of a stranger not far behind where she stood. The woman turned around abruptly, acting in the same manner as some kind of spooked animal. "W-what do you want?" She asked hesitantly, taking a step back. Had she seen his horse? What horse? He could be lying...trying to trick me.. She thought to herself as she took another step back. Hearing the voice of his owner sounding rather frantic, the black stallion that played in the lake shifting his attention towards the two up walking individuals, how curious.
The woman trembled slightly before shaking her head, N-no, I haven't seen any horse e-except for my own. Sorry." His accent was quite different from her own, perhaps he wasn't from around here. "It's just me and Light." She spoke quietly, if the man didn't know any better he would probably think the woman was overly shy. But no, Sienna was actually afraid. The woman gestured with a shaky hand towards the black stallion who was now slowly approaching the shore.
She welcomed the stallion's presence as he nosed her shoulder with a drenched muzzle. "S-sorry that I wasn't of any help." She responded quickly, not knowing what else she could say to the stranger. Usually people often offered to introduce themselves, but Sienna was too scared stiff to do such a thing.

Something in the girls gaze made Chase falter, the way she watched him wearily and took a step back reminded him of a cornered yearling. Startled into submission with nowhere to run they would stand and tremble till the pressure of your presence was released. It was disconcerting to see in a human, especially an adult. He let his pace drop till he stopped some paces away in an attempt to give her some space. As it was she continued to back up, closer to the lose horse behind her.
Her voice was shaking, literally shaking with what he could only assume to be fear. Fear of what? Him, men, a stranger, humans. Granted he knew all these things worthy of fear, he had just never imagined himself to be the cause of such a strong reaction before. His hand rose up to scratch at the back of his neck, running up through his messy hair, a nervous reaction. With eyebrows furrowed he gave her an apologetic smile, one that was supposed to be reassuring but no doubt fell short of its mark. The silence lingered stale between as her black horse at liberty walked over from the waters edge and came to rest to his owners shoulder.
The fact she had apologised twice made Chase grimaced involuntarily. He hated the word. Yet he resisted the urge to lecture or make some kind of snippy remark in reply. Instead chose to focus on the gorgeous heavy horse behind her. Without moving any closer he nodded with a smile to her horse. " He is lovely. You said his name was Light? Maybe it is a good thing I fell off, if my mare had seen him I am not sure she would have willingly come home again." His voice was softer this time, more guarded as if afraid to say the wrong thing. " I am Chase by the way." He went to take a step forward with his hand out for a hand shake, yet pulled back awkwardly at the last second, turning instead to the side to face the lake instead of the girl and her horse. Looking down below he noted that the water dropped off suddenly.
Without giving her time to respond and with a slight cheeky grin plastered on an otherwise suddenly serious face Chase turned to face her, hand reaching out in her direction. " Wait! Names are not important. Jump in with me." Nodding his head towards the water he wiggled his hand. " Don't think, jump." He didn't care that it was impulsive, that he didn't know her. That she was a second away from turning tail and running. Suddenly this was exactly what he wanted, a random impulsive encounter. It was his answer to awkward situations, his answer to a lack of control. It was his fix.

Summer evening breeze is blue Drawing voices deep from you Lead by a beating heart, What a year and what a night, What terrifying One thing that typically caused the woman to come out of her heavily guarded shell was to ask her something about her horse, or horses in general. The smallest of smiles had pulled at the corner of her lips, although very faint. "D-do you blame her? Light is such a g-gentleman.." She stammered, her horse nickering loudly over her words as if to prove her comment to be invalid.
She registered the man's name, although it was unlikely that she would ever cross paths once they finally parted. Wary eyes shifted to the hand that was held out to her. Did he expect her to shake his hand? She wasn't even sure, instead she remained still biting her lip in deep contemplation. "What?" She squeaked out a question, taken aback by the man's complete one eighty in his demeanor.
Don't think? Just jump? She repeated several times in the back of her head, wondering if this was some kind of trick. Sienna shuddered slightly at the thought, but what else did she have to lose? Besides, she was going to jump in the lake before the man had arrived in the first place, so it couldn't change the outcome all that much. Right? Right.
Taking a deep, shaky breath the young woman made a move for the lake, gasping as her skin met with the icy cold surface of the body of water. "H-holy crap, it's f-f-freezing!" She shouted with uncontained laughter bubbling from her, the first time she had been able to have a good laugh in quite awhile.
Back on the shore, the stallion snorted with distaste as he felt water collide with his pelt even though his frame was already damp. Her body protested and she had half the mind to splash back towards the shore, but she found herself staying out in the water's depths. "I s-should have thought about it." She spoke with a shaky giggle, still trying to become adjusted to the water that was so much different than the hotter atmosphere outside of the lake.

He laughed at the horse and human duo going on. It seemed that the black stallion was in tune to his owner, and they worked together to answer questions and handle strangers. It was not a partnership he could see anything coming between. Thinking about his mare reminded him of how much he butt and hip ached from his earlier dismount. " Light certainly agrees in any case. He would be able to bring some manners to the table at the very least. She could learn a thing or two from him."
He could see her thinking, see her mind ticking over over analysing the situation. It was easy, no thoughts, no complications. " Just Jump" Then she did. With a look Chase was unable to place she launched herself into the water. Sparing a moment only to throw his phone on the surface Chase followed after her. His hands covering thrown up above his head as hit the icy surface. His jeans were water logged within seconds and threatened to drag him down. His shirt clung to his body as he bobbed back to the surface. Her laughter rang around them, a sound that sounded foreign on her lips. But it was an honest sound, she was honestly laughing. He laughed with him, the cold water ripping it from him. Her laughter was infectious.
Her laughter turned into giggling, then talking. " In hindsight a gradual dip may have been the smarter move." He said through chattering teeth, his laughter returned at Lights reaction. " I think your horse thinks we are nuts." Cupping his hands together he squirted water in her direction with a smirk. " At least you had the common sense to undress before leaping in."

Summer evening breeze is blue Drawing voices deep from you Lead by a beating heart, What a year and what a night, What terrifying It wouldn't have been a lie to say that she and Light were often in tune. The horse was aged, but he could still find the time and energy to show off to both other horses and people alike. Sienna wouldn't replace the stallion for any other horse in the world, he had been with her for years and not once did it cross her mind that soon the circle of life may decide when the horse laid his head down to sleep for the last time.
Luckily she didn't think about that, she had enough fears on her plate as it was. Maybe this man, Chase was it? Wasn't so terrifying after all, he didn't seem like the sort to hang around people like Dallas Petrov, but what was she to know? She wasn't a psychic, after all. All forms of anxiety fled her mind, if only for the moment as she distracted herself with a little unexpected fun, a time to actually act like a human being for once and not a frightened animal caught in a trap. "It was your idea, Sherlock." A laugh came from her yet again as she splashed water towards the man, the whole idea seemed funnier still since the man's clothes had become quite water-logged. "At least I was p-prepared." She stammered, although her studders became less frequent as she gradually realized that this man meant no harm to her, or her equine companion.
Back on the shore, the black stallion pawed with an ebony hued hoof upon the sandy shore that boarded the lake. Humans were such odd creatures, the odd sounds of joy that came from their mouths was even stranger still. Snorting once more his forelegs buckled slightly before he laid his frame down in the damp soil, promptly rolling to and fro on his back, coating himself in mud rather gleefully. Seeing this, Sienna gained a look of surprise. "Light, I just bathed you this morning!" She exclaimed but soon gave up, the horse was already beginning to gain the look of a brown horse, or rather a muddy wild hog. The stallion got back to his hooves and nickered loudly before trotting off into the nearby wood, probably looking for the mare he had scented earlier. "Wait, Light, don't..nevermind." The woman huffed quietly as she looked towards Chase, "It seems we've bored him." She smiled as she swam towards the man rather hesistantly, in fact once she had come within a length of the man's vicinity she frowned and swam a few lengths back to where she had once resided. Her anxious feelings collided badly with her natural timidness, it was just a bad mixture.

As the water soaked into every fibre of his being and every stitch of his clothing he found that it wasn't as cold as he had originally thought. All though as always some forethought would have been a good idea. He was in half a mind to shrug out of his water logged clothing, at the very least he wanted to remove his jeans that continued its attempts to drag him down to the murky below. But the difference in the once stammering girl who all but turned tail and ran when he had first approached was too great. He wasn't about to jeopardise her comfort level for his own. Something still had him treading distance some length away from her, giving her more space than was usually necessary.
He followed her gaze over to the black horse as he lowered his heavy frame to the upturned mud below him. Yet the stalling as beautiful as he was couldn't hold his interest for long and he found his sights flicking back to the blonde girl he had convinced to jump in with him. The way her face lit up, it almost explained her animals namesake. It held a beauty that made all her other expressions seems contorted in comparison. He had seen his share of broken women, there was a time in his youth where he had specialised in just that kind of person. Choosing to wallow in others self pity rather than deal with his own. Yet they had never held his interest for long, a drink, a night, a conversation. He had never wanted to be a part of their internal struggles, he was not the kind to offer to untangle such a mess. Being inside his own mind was often enough, without the added burden of someone else's trauma. Yet as she turned to him, the fire in her eyes not yet extinguished he couldn't help but smile with her. Genuinely smile at her honest happiness, he could see even if it was only for the briefest of moments, she had a side that clung to sanity, clung to happiness.
" I find that incredibly hard to believe." Instinctively he moved towards her, his body moving almost of its own accord taking its signal from her. Her abrupt halt and retreat saw him also pull up short, a lop sided smile on his face asked all kinds of unspoken questions. With a raised eyebrow he looked behind her and pointed to a stick floating some lengths away. His expression suddenly serious as if pondering a life altering question. " First one to that stick wins" With a wink that once again returned his goofy demeanour and easy smile he ducked his head under the water and started to swim towards the stick. His clothes pulling him back with every stroke.

i am a flower quickly fading She almost wished that she had the man's courage, to be able to charge through anything without any worry or care towards whatever stood before him. The little sense of freedom that the man carried about himself, she wanted some of that. She wanted to be able to be daring, to just take leaps without feeling bounded by the shackles of fear. But, perhaps it was all hopeful thinking.
His smile was contagious, enough to make her smile increase slightly. "Wait, Cha-..ah." It was too late, the headstrong man had already dunked his head underneath the water, already making for the dubbed finish line like a marine animal. Shouldn't she worry about the fact that her stallion had wandered off? Her mind linked her lifeline and sanity to the likes of an equine, which wasn't anything close to being logical.
Maybe, just maybe it wouldn't hurt to live just a little. To experience what it was like to be alive, instead of going through each of her days as a nervouswreck. A frown had pulled at her lips but before long she found herself diving underneath the water as well, swimming towards the drifting stick that floated off in the distance. As she felt the cold water against her skin, the sound of the water splashing as she pushed herself forward, she could not help but to forget the hell her mind insisted on putting her through, if only for a moment.
With her eyes set firmly on the goal ahead, she eventually came to rest her hand upon the severed wood, finding her hand meeting with the man's own. "Oh.." She squeaked out in surprise, the sensation of touching another human's skin was foreign to her, not since the likes of her own mother. It was so odd, so different, but she almost wanted to welcome the feeling. "W-who w-won..?" She stammered nervously as she hastily removed her hand, her face flushing a deep red at her embarrassment. 351 w | @chasehastings | hope this isnt powerplayin' xD

City to City THERE'S NOTHING ROMANTIC ABOUT THE HOURS I KEEP. Her broken voice only just touched his ears as he dived below the surface, he hadn't swum for a long time. It no longer came as naturally to him as it once had. Before long the sound of approaching splashing reached him and in a mock attempt to be competitive he attempted to draw forward. Surprisingly his polo shirt more than his jeans were providing resistance, lost in the moment and without a thought to the girl behind him he paused mid stroke, floating upwards to fling the shirt over his head. His arms finally free he dived forward, not far from the imaginary line now, he could see her perfect form just ahead of him. Reaching out for the bobbing floating stick he grinned in first celebration then amusement as his hand brushed against the soft skin of Sienna and not the expected rough bark.
Laughter bubbled over as it had time and time again since meeting her, her expression had gone from childish amusement to fear. It was confusing, frustrating and on some equally frustrating level, it was adorable. Flicking the stick back behind him in answer to her question he reached out towards her. Quickly and as always, without thought to its consequences he pulled Sienna towards him. Big warm hands wrapped around her waist just below her ribs. His blue eyes looked deep within her own, taking in her expression as he picked her up out of the water. His laughter had died down now and was instead replaced with a gentle smile as he looked up at her. Slowly before he was dragged down below the surface he lowered her down. He held her close being careful to only let her body brush against his bare torso for a second before releasing her. With one hand remained against her back, in a wordless gesture. " It isn't over yet, come on." Slowly pulling his hand away from her he made for the surface once more. His mind and its thoughts had been left back there with the confusing, awkward and slightly adorable stranger.
He was not a love sick fool, not any more. He had once been the romantic, the long term kind of guy. Truth be told he probably still was. But he hadn't found someone to dedicate the time to, granted he hadn't been looking. If anything he had been avoiding exactly that, the past had taught him much, including the dangers of inviting someone else in to share the same life. It wouldn't be wrong to assume he was a flirt, but he knew the line and walked comfortably on the edge. Playing with young seemingly damaged girls was too far beyond that imaginary line. He had just over stepped it with her, the feel of her flush against him brought a warm chill to him and a smile to his face. He doubted however that she would have had the same reaction. He would have to apologies not with words, he despised that word. But with his actions from here on out, if any move was to be made she would be the one to make it. He was many things, but a creep wasn't one of them. He genuinely cared about people and would never wish to make them feel uncomfortable.

i am a flower quickly fading Sienna would have thought that the awkward moment of their hands touching, if only briefly, would have ended right at that moment. Unfortunately, she had forgotten that her new companion went above and beyond when it came to doing things outside of the box. He was strange, interesting, but very strange.
Her interest had been stolen by the likes of the stick bobbing away after the man had sent it about its way. Never would she have thought that she would be pulled into some random, unprovoked embrace of sorts. A surprised squeak came from the woman almost instantly, as she wrapped her arms around the man's neck, instinctively trying to find some kind of lifeline just in case by some insane chance, she would fall to her death (which was impossible in this scenario). "Chase!" She exclaimed his name but soon quieted with a nervous silence as she found the man's eyes gazing into her own, which only caused her to shift her gaze elsewhere, her timid nature forbidding eye contact for long periods of time.
A nervous shiver went up her spine as she felt her own torso come into contact with the man's bare frame, if only for a fraction of a second. The palm of his hand against her back only made her look on in confusion before the stranger finally parted. She stared out through her blue eyes that were filled with something beyond fear for once, confusion. Nothing but pure confusion.
She shook her head slowly, the smallest of smiles pulling at her lips. A shy smile that she quickly tried to hide as she dove back under the water, heading back towards the shore. She wasn't sure what to think about the situation, but at least out here it would seem that she didn't have anything to fear. It was just her, and this random guy who was insistent on jumping into bodies of water rather randomly. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to live a little like Chase, even for the briefest of moments. Just a fraction of a second..
Deciding not to overthink, or even think at all, the blond haired woman found herself reaching for the man's waist. To so desperately get another embrace like the one before, to feel like maybe, just maybe she didn't live in hell after all. 400 words| @chasehastings | tumblr_inline_mg16feloB31qdlkyg

City to City THERE'S NOTHING ROMANTIC ABOUT THE HOURS I KEEP.
Nothing in his current frame of thought could explain the feeling of a hand against his side. He paused and turned around slowly as to not startle her. Lightly putting his hand against her own, holding it to him for fear she would let go. Her initial silence was nothing compared to this, in this words had no place. He looked down at her, her face downcast like before. Unable to hold eye contact, he longed to stare into them. To communicate what sound could not. She continued to surprise him, when he expected fear she showed confusion, confusion in place of happiness. Longing in place of anxiety. It was all there, flickering in every second of eye contact.
With his spare hand he reached out and placed a thumb lightly under her chin, in an attempt to bring her gaze up towards him. His index finger brushed ever so lightly over her bottom lip. His own eyes betrayed only a little of the inner turmoil going on, he had promised, he was going to apologise and yet here he was again. Lost in the moment, with no thought to its consequences. He couldn't help it, he wanted to see the fear disappear from her expression again. To replace it with anything, even confusion like before. The memory of her being lowered down against him, her eyes betraying something beyond the usual fear. Was reason enough for now.
Closing his hand over her own at his waist he attempted to slide it across his back, dropped his hand from her chin he wrapped it around her own cold back and pulled her into a one arm embrace. This time he didn't spare her, his body was pressed up against her own. Holding her up so she no longer had to tread water to remain floating. The water seemed even colder next to her warming body. The air frigid against his exposed wet skin. But his mind for now had been silenced. Finally letting go of the hand that she held against his back, he traced his fingers along her arm. Coming up to brush a stray strand of hair behind her ear before using it to pull her into a proper hug.

i am a flower quickly fading This feeling was incredibly foreign to someone like Sienna, it was strange, but she welcomed it. Whatever 'it' was, anyway. She found herself watching the man's movements carefully, almost cautiously as she felt his hand touch her own, the warmth between them brought nervous jitters to her, something she should have been used to by now but.. She couldn't bring herself to look into the man's eyes, not when he was looking at like that, in that foreign way that she could not describe, for she did not know of it.
A nervous smile lightly tugged at the corners of her lips as she gently lifted up her head in response to the man's finger upon her cheek. She wanted to say something, anything, but found herself drawing a blank as she felt the man's touch upon her bottom lip. The man would get his silent wish however, for the woman was confused, being unable to decipher as to what she was feeling at the present moment. "C-chase.." She stammered quietly, unsure of what to say, or do.
It was then that she found herself having her hand placed against his damp back, it was a hug. It was a good thing she had allowed herself to live a little, if only for the moment. If only for this stranger, this stranger who didn't seem to have a single fear in the world. She envied his courage. "Chase.." She murmured again, repeating his name for she wasn't sure what to say.
Feeling the touch of his fingers trailing against the skin of her arm, the woman visibly shuddered, the feeling unusual, different, but oddly welcomed? "You're a strange one." She laughed quietly as the man tucked a blond strand of hair behind her ear as she gladly gave him a proper embrace, her arms wrapping around his back. Was it odd that she did not mind laying her head against his chest? Perhaps she did so many thing all at once without thinking for one, she wanted to be as brave as Chase, and two, it was the first time she had been able to do anything quite so daring (even though it was something as simple as a hug) without being abused by someone whom she thought was her friend.
Sienna soon realized that out here, in the middle of the woods, Dallas would not appear. No, Dallas didn't even know she was even in Los Angeles of all places. For all the crazed woman knew, Sienna could have been dead and gone by now for it had been several years since she had been under Dallas' control in high school. Here, she was safe, at least that was what she kept trying to tell herself. With a great deal of hesitation, she raised her hand and hovered it near the side of the man's face.
She wanted to, but then she didn't. She was afraid, but maybe she thought too much. Perhaps everything wasn't as bad as it seemed, if only for a fraction of a moment. With a shaky hand, she rested her hand alongside the man's face, marveling at the gesture, something so different for the likes of someone like herself. Unfortunately, it would be then that she realized that what she was doing was dangerous. She dropped her hand quickly and looked as though she wanted to return to her invisible shell, "I-I'm sorry. I didn't m-mean.." She stammered, tripping and falling over her words as she tried to come up with some excuse for her actions, but came up entirely empty handed. 615 words | @chasehastings |

City to City THERE'S NOTHING ROMANTIC ABOUT THE HOURS I KEEP.
He couldn't help but smile as her eyes met his, the confusion was strong but the fear had seemed to all but be gone. If only for this brief moment he had his wish. Every time she murmured his name or shuddered he wanted to pull her in closer. But he had to resist, not wanting to scare her. Instead he kept her close, skin to skin but without the crushing contact that he knew would startle her. He couldn't help but laugh out loud, his hard chest rumbling against her head as she pushed up against him.
"I can live with that if you can." He said through a smile, the silence broken at last. He watched with bated breath as she raised her hand up to his face. He remained still as stone, ignore the impulse to lean into her hand, to let his face rest against her soft gentle fingers. Yet he didn't he let her come to him, her fingers resisted against his cheek for a moment. It sent a spark through him, he held in the shiver that threatened to rack his whole body. Goosebumps painted his upper arms and torso. Then without warning she pulled away, as if she had been shocked. He had no doubt that if he hadn't been holding her up against him that she would have swum away. The simple fact that even now she didn't push away was comfort enough and he pulled her in ever so slightly hushing her broken words.
" Hey now, please don't apologise." He knew talking frankly was a mistake, he knew enough to know that it would cause her to dwell, to think on the very thing that forced an apology out of her in the first place. But the hatred for that word was so strong he couldn't help himself. " Apologise once more and I may just have to kiss you to get you to stop." His voice was light hearted and teasing in an attempt to bring the mood back up, as he spoke he winked slowly at her, catching her gaze again if only briefly.

i am a flower quickly fading Normally, she would have fled from being within a handful of lengths away from any individual, especially men. Yet, Chase had her doing something that was dubbed practically insane her standards. She mentally praised the man for retaining such high patience for someone as flighty as herself.
Although the moment had seemed almost too real, to the point where it seemed like a dream. Perhaps she would wake up soon, there was no way she could be this brave, right? The thoughts of it being a dream soon vanished as she was pulled in closer to the man's frame.
She couldn't help feeling the need to apologize, she felt as though she was messing up everything, even though she wasn't fully aware of what everything even was. "I'm sorry reall-- wait what?" She responded quickly when her mind had actually registered what the man had said afterwards regarding her constant apologies. "Oh..I-... I'm sorry I didn't mean to say sorry so-...ah.." She stammered over her words, quickly finding herself in a seemingly neverending spiral of apologies. "I..uh.." Why couldn't she speak a intelligible sentence?
Her heart pounded against her chest as her face took on a deep red hue, blushing was something she rarely ever did, for she typically never got involved in embarrassing situations. Realizing that she still had her hand placed gently against the side of the man's face, she quickly dropped it, allowing it to fall back at her side.
The cool waters that lapped quietly at her waist was all but forgotten as she bit her lower lip, perhaps that would prevent her from saying any more silly statements. "You're..very friendly." She spoke shyly, her eyes catching the man's gaze, this time she found herself unable to withdraw from looking into the depths of the man's eyes. Perhaps..it wasn't all that bad? How could she know when everything tended to be ripped right under her nose most of the time?
Sienna raised her hand, gently brushing an individual finger against the man's bottom lip, just as he had done her merely moments earlier. "I-I don't even know..w-what I'm..doing." She breathed quietly, confusion and curiosity overpowering her fears. To be able to do something that the person of her nightmares could not interrupt, break or take away from her, it intrigued the likes of the woman too much. She was safe, Dallas was not here, for the benefit of the doubt she was safe. It was then that a shy smile crept into her features once more as she leaned her frame into the man's torso, once again welcoming the foreign warmth.
