The fact that the hustling and bustling city of Aurora was actually sponsoring some kind of trail ride thrilled Nevada beyond compare.
Finally, she would be able to do something fun for free. Too bad she didn't have a truck or trailer, and like heck she'd be able to shove her pony into her mini cooper.
"We're going to take the long way." She murmured to the chestnut pony who snorted as the skinny shorty hopped up into the english saddle. "Thatta way!" She called with a light laugh as she nudged the horse forward gently.
It took about an hour or two before she finally ended up at the rendezvous point for the beginning of the trail. Much like everyone else, she had packed a bag filled with necessities for a camp out, much to the annoyance of her pony. "Hey, there are some carrots in there somewhere so don't start complaining." The woman voiced when the mare craned her neck to nibble at the woman's shoe.
It kind of disappointed Nevada to see everyone on their big, godlike horses and here she was on her tater tot pony, just standing a mere fourteen point one hands high. Well, she didn't like to be that high off the ground, that's how people got concussions.
While she waited for the trail ride to start, she loosened her grip on the reins and allowed her mount to nibble at a small patch of fresh green grasses. "When is it gonna start?" She asked, but everyone was too wrapped up in their own conversations to notice.
Fredrick Hoovai
redrick had recently bought himself quite a nice, chestnut Hanoverian mare. She was a nice girl, didn't bite him in the ass or anything. She even nuzzled his face once or twice every now and then. He was quite pleased with himself for picking out such a lovely equine with an equally as lovely name. Poet... like the occupation of writing meaningful poems. Fascinating, ain't it?
On a different note, the man hadn't forgotten about his child hood best friend. Not by a long shot. He remembered her round and plump kid face. He still heard her sweet childish voice laughing like a broken record stuck on repeat. Of course, he never dwelled on it for too long. It was just another memory lost in the confinements of time and space. Nevada... Such a beautiful name for an equally as beautiful young woman. She had been growing so far, too fast.
The brunette man packed his bag, slung it over his shoulders before climbing atop his chestnut mare. Gripping the reins in his rough hands, he softly urged the female to walk forward. He gently patted her long and thick neck before looking ahead with a blank expression, emotion lost from his facial features.
It had been almost a couple of hours of an on and off cycle of walking and jogging when he arrived at the beginning of the trail ride. A crowd of couples and loners crowded it, equines slowly walking side by side. Blue eyes briefly swept the crowd for a moment before quietly striding on his tall female. "When is it gonna start?" A mature and feminine voice spoke up. He slowly stopped next to the small woman and her equally short pony. The man looked down at her and offered a smile. "Any time now, Mi'lady." Fredrick answered.

Hearing a voice directed at her with funny dialect caused the woman to drag her attention away from the busy bee crowd.
To be honest, the thought of her childhood friend had never crossed her mind for a good long while. Of course, she had spent her fair share of nights crying her little young heart out, but no one needed to know about. Wasn't it weird to cry about moving away from your friend? Wasn't it? Definitely was.
She turned slightly in her saddle to shift her attention to the person who had given her the useful bit of information. "Thanks, everyone just keeps yapping and---oh." She spoke when she slowly began to recognize the features of the man.
It was Fredrick, but..older..more..adult-ish-like. Was that a word? Had to be. He was scruffy, and taller and his voice wasn't quite as squeaky as it was. "Freddi--Fredrick." She called, her tense excitement causing even the likes of her pony to raise her head, giving the woman quite a nasty look.
Okay, maybe her horse had spooked at some point and she hit her head on a boulder. Totally logical, she was in a coma right now. Dreaming in a hospital bed with her dad at the side of the bed.
Just as if to see if she was indeed dreaming she raised her arm and pinched her forearm. "Holy jeebus, I'm not dreaming. It's really you Freddie, in the flesh. Dude, I could just hug you, but my pony gets jealous so." As if to prove a point the pony snorted and flicked her tail across her flanks.
It didn't take much before the blond woman was grinning like she just won a million dollar lottery. "Wow, I mean. I thought maybe you fell down a well or something, you know. Had kids with a underground troll woman and made her your troll wife. But yeaaaah, that's a bit farfetched." She giggled, being as silly and goofy as she had always been.

redrick felt incredibly tall upon his equally as big mare. She was such a beauty, to be honest. He could go on and on about her appeareance. She had the muscles equal to a lion, rippling beneath her Chestnut pelt as she took each step with a stride. Her thickly built frame towered over others, legs long and almost thin underneath her large form. And don't even get him started on how much he adored her sleek coat when it was nice and brushed.
"Thanks, everyone just keeps yapping and --- oh." His blue eyes slowly flickered across her soft and adult-like features. The man blinked a couple of times in an uncertain way. She seemed so familiar and yet so different. A soft smile slowly formed on his face, stretching across his features in an almost disbelief type of manner. "Freddi -- Fredrick." A chuckle escaped from his mouth, bellowing against his neck.
He made a salute like motion to the woman. He couldn't believe it was her, it was really her. "Hey Nevvy." He replied lightly with a bright smile. "Holy jeebus, i'm not dreaming. It's really you Freddie, in the flesh. Dude, I could just hug you, but my pony gets jealous so." His hand was placed once more on Poet's neck before speaking. "Could say the same for you. Can't believe you're actually here, where have you've been all this time?" The scruff-like man asked in an excited voice which doesn't happen very often considering he was usually a calm person.
"Wow, I mean. I thought maybe you fell down a well or something, you know. Had kids with a underground troll woman and made her your troll wife. But yeaaaah, that's a bit farfetched." Fredrick snorted in amusement at her words. "Nah, you know me better than to marry a troll, Nev." He commented. "I haven't got a woman or any kids but good guess." The Water manipulator said before glancing forward towards the gated entrance.

Nevada still couldn't believe her eyes. Here was Freddie in the flesh, alive and well. And as handsome as ever She thought in her head with a giddy smile. Of course, after all this time the man was probably happily married to a pretty young woman, or even a man or maybe even a duck.
She cast a glance at the large mare the man was riding before looking down at her pony. "I could ask you the same thing. But, well it's a long story." A story that she really didn't want to talk about as it was just too much drama, besides her day was going well thus far.
The little woman adjusted her reins as the mare underneath her started bob her head and paw the ground impatiently. "I've always been a good guesser." She laughed as she stuck out her tongue at him.
Much to her surprise, and joy, she soon found out that Fredrick was still single. But of course she didn't have a crush on him, that would just be silly and awkward of course. The sound of hooves hitting the earth alerted the blond to the fact that the trail ride had started.
Seeing her excitable mare look like she was raring to go she looked to Freddie, "Wanna ride alongside each other?" It had been ages since she had seen Freddie and she didn't want to let him escape her sights just yet.
