[attr="class","boxas"] Reuben Theodore Clarke Basics Species: Human Distinguishing Characteristics?: None extremely defining as merely has swarthy skin, deep brown hair, and brown eyes. The shades mean, however, he isn't monochromatic and would be characterized as typically attractive due to his sharp, defined jawline, full lips, slanted eyes, and well muscled body. Reuben stands a tall, but perfectly reasonable, six foot, two inches, and is narrow from his hips, and widens through his shoulders. Personality: Reuben is a fairly straightforward, well-to-do kind of male. His history is fairly unremarkable, and while he isn't a bore, Reuben is hardly an eccentric character. He's blunt, occasionally to the point where it angers those around him. The brunette is a simple country boy, and doesn't believe in dancing around the problems. Because of his lack of 'sophistication', Reuben enjoys the little, uncomplicated things in life, such as a cold beer, a good roll in the hay, a collected canter striking off on the correct lead, and a beautiful sunset. This means Reuben is a generally amicable person, who is rather content with his life, and believes other people should be so, too. He's perfectly generous and rather a gentleman- but no person is perfect, and Reuben has a quick temper. He's also stubborn as an ox, a tad too excitable, and sometimes a wee bit narrow-minded and daft. He finds it difficult to see things from others point of view, and while he isn't self absorbed, he does often put himself first. Despite being a somewhat individual creature, he enjoys the company of others and is happy in social situations. Reuben doesn't have a self-conscious bone in his body: although he is somewhat ignorant to the effect of his own attractiveness, he is very comfortable in his own body, as it is. History Reuben's life is nothing to gasp in horror at. It's basically atypical of a country boy- his mama and papa were high school sweethearts, and they married at nineteen years of age, whilst Reuben's mama, Chloe, was six months pregnant with Reuben here. In Myrtle Creek, Oregon, everyone knew everyone's business, and no matter how much Chloe and Reuben's Pa, Ricki, ignored the whispering, it got to them. Mixed ethnicity, teenage sweethearts, and getting married already? Chloe's already showing. Why'd they bring a kid into a world already so fill of trash? Bet they got a rickety cot already set up in that 'quaint' little house. Their parents were nothing but loving and supportive, but all the same, they wanted to get out of that town that had them all set up and squared in a perfect little box. So they up and moved with all the money they had, every pence they saved from their tiny wedding, from their low-payed jobs, and whatever their own parents could spare them. They managed to afford a tiny, battered house in the middle of Halifax County, Virginia, with ten acres. His papa was a travelling salesman for some small, obsolete company, so it wasn't like he was at home often, and Chloe was an editor, meaning she could work just fine from home. She also was a writer, in her spare time, but she'd long given up on the idea of becoming published. It was an unrealistic dream. Chloe and Ricki, despite their financial troubles and marital issues (Ricki, you're never here anymore. And when you're here, you don't want to be!) put their life and soul into raising their son. Both had horses, and so when a young Reuben showed interest in the idea of a pony, that was exactly what he got for christmas. He didn't notice, at five, what their household had to lack in order to give him such an expensive present. Reuben grew up with nothing but love from his parents. Even in his teens, he could see how hard they tried, and while his peers were busy rebelling, he took time to help around the house. He'd often queried, mentally, why he didn't have a sibling, but since bringing it up as a young child and seeing the tears in his mothers eyes, he knew not to ask. By the time Reuben turned sixteen, he'd had a job for five years, and had learnt to save every dollar he earnt to spend on his horses, his horse riding, and what was left over, his parents. Just little things like buying the groceries or taking them out to dinner when his Pa was back in town. In school Reuben was an unfocused student who did well at art, music, physical education, and english. He was popular amongst people his age, mainly because of his friendly, approachable nature, but his closest friends were undoubtedly the equestrians. Reuben attended pony club every weekend until he rode well enough to compete for his state in showjumping. He then discovered his love of eventing, and all enthusiasm from school ebbed into this exciting sport. Reuben left school at seventeen, along with most of his peers. Unlike most of his peers, he had an apprenticeship with the local farrier: a kind, well-meaning man who could see Reuben's natural ability with horses. He took him under his arm and, as an aged man, slowly shifted some of his work load onto Reuben. All the while he competed fiercely, still living at home with his parents while he tried to find somewhere he could live. It took him till he was eighteen until he was financially and emotionally ready to leave home and find his own feet. His girlfriend had just dumped him, his employer and decided he was well and truly to shoe and trim on his own, and his parents were beginning to flourish under his father's new, higher paid job. Reuben was far too poor to relocate to somewhere he could have horses and would be central to clients. He managed to rent himself a small, tidy house in Chowchilla, California, near a place where he boarded his two horses Queeny and Joel. It wasn't an ideal situation, but Reuben made it work- and work it did, with the tidy profit he made from the meager living costs of his own, minus the larger ones of his horses. He built up an excellent reputation as he competed state wide in eventing, show jumping, dressage, and the occasional endurance ride. At 23 he had eventually he had enough money to move to somewhere more handy. Aurora immediately caught his eye- an equestrian based community, with low living costs and well-priced real estate. He disregarded the 'mystery' surrounding the place, even whilst he was slightly intrigued. His first step was to buy the cheapest little ranch the area could offer him- a quaint little 15 acre block, with plenty of flat land and a small, two bedroom brick house. Reuben informed his clientele where he was leaving to, loaded his horses into his crusty little float (it caused many a stare at competitions) and leisurely made his way down the south of of California. | [attr="class","sigh"]human [attr="class","sigh"]male [attr="class","sigh"]23 [attr="class","sigh"]bisexual [attr="class","sigh"]muscled [attr="class","sigh"]six foot two [attr="class","sigh"]brown [attr="class","sigh"]brown [attr="class","sigh"]farrier [attr="class","fall"] marlon teixeira |
