Did you ever think this could happen? Fate had a funny way of showing itself. Whether it be through an animal or through a miracle, it followed you like a shining star as it waited to pounce. Fortunately this was one of the many miracles of fate. And perhaps it would help several people today and quite possibly change the way they protect themselves. Sometimes there aren't enough people to make you feel like a star, but there is enough to make you feel loved and important. And that's what most people could ask for, right? Some desperately need it. Lilly had been dragging herself out of the house more often, getting groceries, taking the kids out, working, pulling her weight for once. But it didn't mean she did it happily. Putting on a fake smile seemed almost as easy as breathing as this point. But breathing was so much harder when the tremendous weight of emotions, stress, and regret weighed on your shoulders like you held the world like Atlas. Having to care for everyone and be careful as to not disturb anything. Maybe it was refreshing for others, but this particular woman didn't want any of it. However she could only blame herself. Blaming anyone else was unjust and practically deserved a smacking if it happened. Besides she'd get used to it in due time. That's all she ever did was get used to it. Became more of a hobby than a habit, to be honest. The dark haired woman was coming back from working at the Barn, tied her hair into pony tail and changed her riding clothes. Hopping onto her skate board, she rode towards town to go take a load off. Lilly shoved her hands into her pockets as her frame moved freely among the walking people. Dull eyes looked ahead, face blank except with the wistful look for something more. Not entirely sure what it was though, she thought to herself. Besides not like she deserved anything she was offered. It was just out of some sort of pity or some ignorant thought that she could be worth something. Releasing a yawn, her fingers curled around in her jacket pockets. Bronze eyes flickered around with slight discomfort at the crowds. She'd much rather stick to the side lines than to actually be surrounded by dozens of people who couldn't give a shit about her. And even if they did, they wouldn't at one point. Her eyes closed briefly as she found it hard to look at the passing faces. However that was possibly a mistake... or maybe the best accident of her life. She heard a soft squeal rip from a feminine voice, making her eyes snap open. Gwendolyn had a different story. She wasn't getting amnesia and sleeping with half the town then getting pregnant and engaged to. No she was possibly the opposite. It wasn't what was happening but what wasn't. It hurt when people talked to you but you knew they didn't believe who you were. Didn't think that you were even supposed to be alive. But what hurt the most was that the only one who could believe in her was children and they were scolded for the idea, abandoned the forbidden dream. Was that all she was? Just a dream that could never come true? She was very much alive. Flesh and bones, horn and all. There weren't many Unicorns and I know that sounds insane but it was true. Or was it? She had been making her way home, to her comfort zone. Then a rather melancholy looking woman was riding on a skateboard when she had drifted into her pathway. She froze and let out a squeal, squeezing her eyes shut. Her muscles bunched up beneath her thick skin but she never did find the pain of impact, except for a knee accidentally hitting her in her thigh. She gasped quietly, tripping over her own clumsy feet and falling to the ground. But neither did the concrete meet her back. A hand snatched her wrist, causing her to stay mid-air with eyes wide. She blinked a couple of times in surprise before looking up to see her savior of sorts. Rather than finding a man's face she saw the same rather sad-looking woman from before. "Erhm... h-hi there." Peyton wasn't up to much. Except for maybe making a patrol around town briefly to grab some coffee. She hauled herself out of the car, reaching in to grab her backpack.. From there she slowly released her hedgehog out of the bag into her hands. "Hey there Dan, ready to go out on an adventure?" She cooed to the little creature before walking on. She wore her Chief badge with pride, head held high. She must of looked strange though. Not every officer had a hedgehog to carry around. And not many people saw the Chief of the Police station out for a casual stroll... with a hedgehog. Blue eyes looked eagerly ahead before it flicked to her little pet who was curling up, seeming like a brown shrub in her hands. She released an amused giggle as a finger gently pet its tiny head. Seemed everybody was a klutz today because soon her shoulder bumped into the another feminine one. She blinked in surprise, skidding to a halt before looking over to realize who it was. "Watch where you're going!" Mickey didn't have any drama, not particularly and she certainly didn't have an important spot in this town. She was your average girl, except for you know the fact she was a snow leopard shifter. She wasn't exactly sure what happened but one minute she was taking a jog through the forest and the next there was blood caking her body and a snow leopard laying in front of her. She loved animals and felt guilty for it but hey it attacked her first. Besides at least she ended its misery. Bryce was a different story. He wasn't a snow leopard but he was just as powerful when it came to the heart. But she was gradually losing her crush for him. There were plenty of people out there.... and even if they weren't Bryce, she'd find someone one way or another. But never mind that, today was going to be a good one! She had been walking towards home, hands shoved in her pockets. Long legs strode their way down the side walk when an equally as powerful shoulder slammed itself into her own. Teal eyes blinked in surprise, anger quickly filling her as a short fuse set off. "Watch where you're going!" She barked before taking a good look at her. She was a little smaller than her, yet an athletic figure with a... hedgehog? But that wasn't even the surprising part because there was a police badge sitting on her chest. An eyebrow lifted slightly in curiosity. "Ah... sorry." She grumbled an apology. "You alright?" She asked as her feet shuffled around beneath her. "Yeah, i'm fine. Takes a lot more to get me ruffled up." She answered light heartedly before smiling. "What's your name? I'm Peyton." She introduced herself cheerily. "Mickey. No not the mouse before you say anything." She replied with a grin. "Whose that little creature you got there?" The blonde woman asked as her thin arms crossed over her chest. "Oh this is Danger Dan. He comes with me everywhere, isn't that right?" She murmured to the hedgehog, causing a small squeal to come from him. "Heh. Cute." She commented before glancing about. "How about we find somewhere else to chat?" She asked as the people around them had curved their formation around the pair. "Sure! Wanna grab a coffee with me?" She asked as she glanced towards the shop a little ways away. Mickey hated coffee but one thing she favored was making some new company. "...Sure, why not." Lilly had fortunately caught the woman who had fallen from her mistake. Wide eyes stared down at the fairly young woman. "Erhm... h-hi there." She greeted with an embarrassed smile. Her other hand gripped her wrist before pulling her up. "I-I didn't hurt you, right?" She asked worriedly as her hands were once more shoved into her jacket pockets. Gwendolyn shuffled around awkwardly, hair falling into place over her face. "Uh... n-no I don't t-think so." She quietly answered, blue eyes looking down at her feet. "...Names Lilly." The woman replied as her bronze eyes searched the girl's hiding features. "What's your name?" She asked politely with a small smile. "....G-Gwendolyn.... b-but you can c-call me Gwen.. if you want." She answered shakily, a hand slowly pushing her hair behind an ear. She hated socializing, couldn't she just avoid it and sit in her home all day with Milo? "Uh... I-I could get you some coffee, as an apology." She offered with a soft grin. Personally she hated screwing up, especially with strangers. It just made it all that more embarrassing. "E-Erhmm..." Gwen quietly murmured. It would be rude not to accept, but she didn't know this person. She could be planning to attack her, to kidnap her, to kill her. She could have a gun! Swallowing the lump in her throat "S-Sure..." she answered before following the girl towards the Coffee Shop. Blue eyes looked to the ground, loping behind this Lilly person. "So you do this often? Socializing, I mean." She asked with a glance over her shoulder to Gwen who was trudging behind her slender frame. "U-Uh, what? Oh.. e-erhm... n-no not r-really... I-I'm kind of b-bad at making f-friends." The nervous girl answered, bright eyes glancing away. "Hah... it's okay, i'm bad at being one. I'm not exactly a perfect saint. I make mistakes a lot." She responded with a light hearted grin. A small smile formed on the other's lips as well, pulling the corners upwards. "There's the smile." She murmured happily, slowly approaching the door and dropping her skateboard outside. So many precious memories were in here. Gwen's grin wavered, feeling a little nervous before it broadened once more. Perhaps this woman wasn't so bad? She'll just have to find out. The two walked inside, glancing about before they crept further in. Lilly's eyes looked to the table near the window, seeing her and Emmett's figure sitting in it. Her eyebrows curved upwards briefly before looking ahead. Such simpler times. Her teeth gently bit her bottom lip, before releasing a breath. However seems this place was shit in terms of service because well this damn puddle was sitting there on the floor, causing Gwen to slip with a gasp. Her hand instinctively grabbed Lilly's wrists, causing her to fall backwards but she threw herself forward to accidentally barrel them into two other women. They laid on the floor, coughing and hacking their lungs out until they sat up and looked at each other. "Sorry... Wanna chat?"
