COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness
Booze. What a lovely way of drowning the real world away from existence, at least that was how Camden saw it. When you're drunk, it seemingly makes all the worst problems go away. Except, when you woke back up in the morning the problems were still there. And, Camden should've known better by now, he gone down this road before. But, the fucking idiot he was decided that life effing sucked, and here he was trying to drown it all away. Who could honestly blame the man? He had been through his own personal kind of hell, and sixteen years later he was still haunted, and still felt like a slab of meat. And, who knows. Maybe that was exactly what Camden was, a damn piece of meat. The motion of people around him partying was relaxing, and somehow made Camden forget how fucked up his life truly was. Well, not all was fine and dandy.
The women were all decent looking, not any really caught his attention and he wasn't even going to try and hit on any one of them. Some other men would be lucky tonight, and Camden could hardly care. What was so very nice about sleeping around? Some women were too whiny or pushy, but they were at least a whole lot better than men. In his experience, most men were assholes who needed sticks shoved up their asses. There was not one guy that Camden would ever consider his friend, he would much rather beat them into a bloody pulp. After all, was that not expected? He had learned long ago that men were monsters, and if he was male, that made him a monster too. A undeserving hypocrite, but hey, he was entitled his own opinions since it was a free country. Women were free to shake their asses wherever they pleased, and one of them would get themselves into a heap of trouble for it. There was a lot of monsters that would want to sell them into the sex trafficking ring, it was places like this that such things could happen, after all, it was a damn club. He found most people to be foolish these days, an women idiotic for wearing such idiotic clothing.
"Another Beer, Please." He smiled at the bartender, giving her a small wink, he started to pay more attention to his surroundings. New people were strolling in, the night was still very young. Camden wasn't being very social, deciding that it was best if they came to him instead. Of course, he probably would scare them all away. He was quite certainly used to it by now, the neverending disappointment of people acting like idiots. Animals were definitely easier than people, they didn't speak, and had much more meaning that any old conversation. They were easy to work with, easy to fall in love with. There was more pros than cons here, and Camden was okay with the solitude in his job, thinking that it was worthwhile. He accepted the beer with a small thank you, the bartender leaving him to gulp down his drink. He decided since he was a monster too, he could look at the women's asses. Most of them were pretty well carved, and he was excited to dig in.

what if tomorrow is too Someone, whoever the delirious bastard was, had once said that alcohol was to become man's greatest enemy, though wasn't it scripted within the bible to love one's enemy, or some shit like that? To be honest, he had never been one to follow, support, or even glance upon any form of religious text, believing it to be superstitious bullshit, though if it was said to give him justification to drink then, hell, he was all for it. Perhaps it could be considered nothing more than stupid that he spent his rare free time in the establishment of which he worked within, though to be perfectly honest, it was one of the more interesting places about the city. And, drunk people were easy people; easy to aggravate, to manipulate, to unravel; to unlock the deepest things within their mind. Simplistic, in more ways than one.
The familiar burn of the alcohol down his throat drew no physical reaction from the man, his pale blue irises merely returning to the bar top, tapping upon the surface to signal another round. As unfortunate at it was, many years of downing the drinks had him building a bit of a tolerance for it, which numbed the usual pleasure of the drink for others, failing to take the sharpened edge off his thoughts as it did all those years ago. It was just his luck, too. "This is bullshit," he mumbled, ignoring the questioning gaze on a nearby drunkard, merely taking to another shot. Same result; faint burn, nothing more. "They seriously needed to up the dosage of these damn things," again, he spoke gruffly, though his voice was no more than a hushed grumble, otherwise inaudible to those surrounding him.
Nobody has really proved of much interest thus far other than unintelligible drunk talk. As such, he grew fairly bored with the sight of the bar, and instead allowed his pale irises to survey the surroundings, drifting between the various women littered about. He spied quite a looker in the corner, a brunette, and was about to make his way over to her, likely to indulge in some sort of manipulative conversation, though his attention was grabbed by the sight of a younger man surveying the sights. His head tilted slightly as he looked upon the guy, who appeared to be merely enjoying the views. Interesting. Who didn't like a guy to wind up once in a while? And hell, when Menelaus wanted to be, he could be quite an annoying fuck. "Enjoying the view?" he quite literally cooed, a smirk passing over his features. "Shock me, say something intelligent. It'll set you one mark apart from the rest of the people in this godforsaken place." He chewed the inside of his mouth whilst surveying the man, curious to see whether this guy was anything different from the rest here. "But I'll let you in with a little tip most seem to miss; if you want to be a smartass when you respond, first you have to me smart. Otherwise you're just an ass." He surveyed the man with his typically intense blue irises, thick with interest. "Go ahead, astound me." It was the truth; half of the people here seemed to be complete fuckups, either far too drunk, uneducated, or maybe a hint of both, to prove to be entertainment for the complex man.

COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness
Sometimes Camden just wished that he could be like a normal guy, have normal relationships. But, it was not a possibility for Camden who had suffered through some pretty incredible shit. The amount of women that passed by in skimpy outfits, asses almost quite literally falling out, were very annoying. And, he hated to admit it but he was so very male, and could not help but look. None of them approached him though, and Camden was quite happy about that actually. He was in no mood to deal with a female that was acting like a damn slut, he thoroughly disliked it in women. Then there was asshole men who fell for the traps, or took advantage of the opposite gender. Humans, in general, were fucking idiots. They were always looking for the perfect moment to screw someone else over, to always take something from someone else. They were in general, quite simply just assholes. Of course, if one went through the shit that Camden went through, they probably would be under the same mindset. He had been introduced to the cruel reality of life far too early, his biological parents being dumbass drug addicts who had never given a shit about Camden and his well being.
He took a sip of his beer, a very annoyed look on his face, especially when he noticed an older man approaching him. He bit his lip in frustration, he was feeling quite confrontational at the moment, not really wanting anyone's attention, especially not a man. "Enjoying the view?" The man's voice was beyond irritating in Camden's opinion, like he was cooing to a baby, not liking the smirk on the guy's face. He decided that he was not going to indulge this man with an answer. He just smiled back, rolling his eyes, hoping the man would get the idea that his company was not wanted. He was hardly drunk, and very well on the right straight of mind. "Shock me, say something intelligent. It'll set you one mark apart from the rest of the people in this godforsaken place." Yeah, this man was most definitely an idiot. And, Camden did not deal well with idiots. Something about the man creeped him out, but any guy creeped Camden out to the point that he just wanted to punch them. And, he was definitely tempted to just go ahead and punch this guy. "But I'll let you in with a little tip most seem to miss; if you want to be a smartass when you respond, first you have to me smart. Otherwise you're just an ass."
Would he just shut up? Like, honestly. He was not interested at all in responding back to this man, he honestly just wanted to drink his beer. "Go ahead, astound me." Impatient, wasn't he? That was about half the human race, so very impatient. "And, I should care if it sets me apart from other people? Far as I see it, you're just another dickhead in this club that needs a stick shoved up his ass, either trying to piss off a man like me or take advantage of an unsuspecting women. Yeah, I really don't have time for you... Sorry sweetheart." A fake smile appeared on his face, then turned around on his stool to face the bartender.

what if tomorrow is too Pale irises surveying the younger man before him, he paid unsaid acknowledgement to the far-from-subtle aggravated gestures, connotating to the fact that this human did not desire any form of company, or at least his, however, he did not relent in his speech. Whether or not such a judgement would be beneficial to him or not, the experience would certainly make for substantial entertainment for him. Wielding a brutish strength, he could certainly hold his own in a fight, and do just as well in a verbal argument; while his intellect might not have been the strongest thing, it was certainly above average, if only due to the complexity his lies fuelling it. The lack of reaction from the younger humanoid counterpart only prompted the shifter to eagerly continue in his endeavour to be entertained, making no effort to hide the hint of an amused smirk that crept the corners of his lips upwards.
Fully aware of the fact that he was causing nothing but irritation, he allowed himself to slide into a seat beside the man, fully intent on further aggravating him. "So he speaks?" He snorted, his voice intentionally sarcastic, his blue irises boring into the man's facials. "Indeed, one should care for what sets him apart. For when a man tries to conform the norm, he looses his uniqueness, which in turn, can relinquish his greatness, should he had possessed any in the first place." Still chewing on the inside of his mouth, his facials cast into faint bemusement at the final half of the man's speech. "True, some people are just beautifully wrapped boxes of shit. But, that's mankind for you. As for my intentions, well, where's the fun in straight out revealing, now, is there?"
The fact that the younger man had turned away barely hindered him, in fact, for he remained seated where he was, despite the man's unwillingness to converse with him. "Remaining quiet does not mean that you have nothing to say, it means you don't think I'm prepared to hear your thoughts. Or so I've come to learn from humans; do you have a different motive?" Menelaus was, debatably, quite the curious being; considering there was nothing stopping him from delving a little deeper (aside from this man's perpetual silence and annoyance), he was all for pushing this male's buttons until he struck something of interest. COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness
Something about the man made Camden's stomach twist into a knot, and his perceptiveness of people was usually quite accurate. Most people hated to admit it, but they were selfish and only out there for themselves in the end. It was just human nature, was it not? After all, the people who had taken him as a kid only had one thing in mind, and that was to their own gain. He expected nothing less than selfishness and cruelty, and he sensed it in this male. He sensed it in every male, they all reminded him of dear ole' Randy. He was a real charmer, didn't even tried to hide the fact he was a monster from the kids that he kidnapped. Fear, that was how he kept the kids quiet while he took them away from their families. And, it was exactly how Camden was taken away, his grandfather angering the mob he worked for. The whole mafia was still going strong, and not to mention the child prostitution ring was still going on, quite hard to stop something that large.
It agonized him to think about other children suffering the same fate he did, to not see the light of day for so long, to not legitimately smile for so long. Camden wished he could save everyone from that kind of lifestyle, but he was a simple veterinarian. He was not the average guy though, he had painful scars that ran too deep and would never be washed away. "Indeed, one should care for what sets him apart. For when a man tries to conform the norm, he looses his uniqueness, which in turn, can relinquish his greatness, should he had possessed any in the first place." He rolled his eyes, not really asking for a response from the man, if he wanted an answer he would of asked. He bit his tongue though, figuring out pretty fast that an reaction was what this man wanted, and who was he to give him that? He was still figuring it out, but he would scare this man away, far away so he could never come back and bother him again.
"True, some people are just beautifully wrapped boxes of shit. But, that's mankind for you. As for my intentions, well, where's the fun in straight out revealing, now, is there?" Did he even ask what he wanted? No, the man was just putting words in his mouth, it seemed to be a constant thing for this man. He just smiled, eyes narrowing as he accessed what to do in the situation. The man wanted to play? Then let's place, after all, the man obviously wanted to be smashed. "I don't remember asking what your intentions were, they're almost too predictable." The words were meant to be insulting, not caring if it led to a fight or not, he wasn't fighting. But, the man had asked for it with his constant badgering. "I mean, you could just walk away and ignore me? It work out so much better for the best of us, or find someone else to annoy, jerkface." Would more insults scare him away, he didn't seem to be the type to be easily scared away and that was the problem.
"Remaining quiet does not mean that you have nothing to say, it means you don't think I'm prepared to hear your thoughts. Or so I've come to learn from humans; do you have a different motive?" He wanted to burst out in anger, but kept his cool. He could insult all he wanted, but the man would not get a kick out of him. His fingers were clenched together, allowing the anger to steam out. "I don't want to talk, dumbshit. I want to enjoy my beer, by myself. Perhaps if you opened your eyes a little bit, you would notice? But, I'm sure those eyes or eye of yours is pretty much shoved up your ass so you can't see anything. In fact, that's where the other one is isn't it?"

what if tomorrow is too It was said that you should never waste your precious time purely to entertain others, since nobody would ever be happy in a world shrouded by miseries. That being said, however, where was the harm in stealing a little meaning from the hour by aggravating this man? Besides, it was likely that he wouldn't get another opportunity to delve into the personality of this being in particular, hence he was fully willing to push down any form of reluctance in order to venture deeper into the younger man's mind, explore the darker crevices. How much of the one-eyed man's delving the fellow being could take, well, he had yet to uncover. However, whatever happened, it was sure to be entertaining, whether or not he himself got a kick in the teeth. He'd rather be bleeding than be bored, which probably wouldn't get him in to the best of situations to come. The singular operational iris studied the younger man's facials carefully, his smirk widening at the lack of response. No, he wasn't trying to be particularly clever with his remarks, he was simply trying to frustrate the man to a point of which something interesting would happen, rather than him simply rejecting the conversation. His skull briefly tilted to one side, though he wasn't about to reconsider, no, he never did. Some might call it stupidity, but he didn't care for the opinions of others. It had worked out well enough for him so far.
A light snort was released as the man finally sought to respond, rolling his shoulder blades in a shrugging motion. "Simply because you didn't ask doesn't mean it cannot be said; how would the more intriguing of conversations start otherwise? Though, if you believe you've nailed down my intentions, tell me, what do I plan to do when I've finished this little... Discussion, hm?" Hell, if the man thought he was predictable, fair enough, though it would certainly be interesting to see what exactly the humanoid would suspect his following actions would be. "Ah, but where would the fun be in walking away? There's something different about you, anyways. Something deeper," he remarked, his voice fading slightly towards the end, almost thoughtfully. Indeed, there was something slightly off about this younger man's demeanour than most in the place. Perhaps some form of buried sorrow, who knew? Well, he intended to find out, not that he would of course.
As the man remarked about his lost eye, however, his jaw clenched slightly, despite the grin splitting its way across his features, the faint spike of anger safely sheltered beneath his perpetual façade. The loss had been worth it at the time, it still was; the safety of the griffin shifter had been preserved, at least for the time being. And that, in itself, was worth it. Hence, he would not allow the man to insult him for defending such a thing. "Hell, who knows, maybe it would be a better sight than this one. Even so, there's no need to go into details. I want to know about you, you're... Intriguing." He gave another grin, leaning back slightly. "Different."
