Appearance: Weyland has the most stunning blue eyes and with his tanned complexion it is one of the first things that you will recognize about him. They are such a vibrant blue that in the right light they can almost look teal. He isn't tall, but rather as a lean and muscled frame standing only around 5'8 with a athletic frame, he fits the bill for his job as a jockey. He probably weighs 119 pounds soaking wet and that's after he's had a meal. He by no means has the awkward or lanky appearance, but rather a hardened and muscled fullness to him that is apportioned just right. He has muscles and toning in all the right paces for being such a lightweight - just right for his height and size. He has a tattoo of a globe as an extravagant sleeve on his left pectoral and arm, but he doesn't look trashy. He can dress with an edge, but he is the epitome of a fashion guru and believes that just because he has a messy job doesn't mean she needs to dress like a slob. He likes to have a clean cut appearances, but isn't afraid to dress more edgy and look like a short model that's fresh of the runway.
Personality: Weyland acts like he dresses - superior. He's been called a snob, but he's got skin as thick as a gator's. It takes a lot to crack his armor and there is very little that can get to heim emotionally. He is the kind of man that once he makes his mind up about something it will take a literal miracle for him to change his mind. He is stubborn and determined to the core, but it has served him well throughout his life to help him land top positions at his job. He drives himself hard, always trying to be the best and as a result he never handles failure well. In fact, when things in general aren't going his way he can be a snide bastard. He in all reality doesn't give much thought to the feelings of others, unless they are apart of his family or has earned the rare title of friend. He's too competitive for his own good and that often has a negative impact on his friend pool.
History: Weyland has a bit of the small guy complex and it all stems from his childhood. His brothers are freaking giants at 6'4 and 6'2 respectively and being the middle child between two brother who can literally look down on and tease you would wear on any sane person's nerves. His family were wealthy business owners in the Santa Anita area and they would often take the family to the Santa Anita park for betting and horse races, but for Weyland it soon became an obsession because he found something he could do that his brothers couldn't lord over him.
He stalked the tracks, bummed rides when he could, breezed whatever horse and soon was discovered to have a genuine talent in the saddle. His driving need to prove and push himself, to prove himself to his lording brothers and aloof parents finally found a way to pay off as he blossomed on the tracks as a jockey. His family had issues accepting that their well-bred son was getting down and dirty at the track, but that only fueled his determination to continue his pursuit of a racing career. He finished high school and tore up his college application to Harvard at the wrath of his father and moved out into his own apartment at the age of eighteen to continue his education as a jockey.
He was soon getting booked on a regular basis at the Santa Anita track and though he may come off as rude to people he's a whiz at reading horses and stragetgize the field - making him a worthy foe to behold on the track no matter what kind of mount he's on. He has the knack to play to his mount's strengths and accommodate their weaknesses to give him the best shot at winning. He really does care about winning, but he also does care about the horse. Horses have been the one accepting constant in his life. His family will show up every blue moon to watch him race, but there's little contact now between them. He's launched into a world of his own, a world of his own making and one where he stands in nobody's shadow.
