can the loneliness take the place of you Andrew had quit his job long ago and found himself in somewhere else he could call 'home' temporarily. His new boss was great. She was pretty nice and had a lot of spunk. She sure as hell was pretty cool too. But Dallas's haunting words would still echo and ring in his ears like it had just happened yesterday. "Nobody else will know you like we do."It was hard escaping the past. Hard escaping the truth when it surrounded you in lingering eyes of fear. The man had dropped the act of being a tough guy and going back to his old ways and instead just went back to being the sulky and sad mess he once was. In the beginning where his monster form had all started and had a rough hold on him where to a point he could hardly contain his beastly urges to kill and feel the blood dripping off his fangs, caking his tongue, and covering his claws. The thought was still tantalizing close. Still wonderfully delectable when he dwelled on it. The taste of metallic blood burning in the back of his throat like a strong alcohol was satisfying in a way. And maybe one day it'll take hold of him and never let go. But that was just a nightmare to think about in his sleep.
Andrew didn't fear a lot. Didn't feel scared of much. The one ultimate thing he was afraid of.. was himself. Of what he could do to his loved ones. Of what he thought about and his need for total power and control. The screams of humans fleeing had once been some sort of fantasy. The way he could lurk in the shadows, bright blue and red eyes piercing the darkness as his jaws parted, huskily breathing with blood lust. And when his prey had no where to run was the fun part. When they'd start shaking in fear, afraid of the oncoming death creeping silently towards them. That used to be his dream. But now he just wanted this monster form gone. Wanted the power and responsibility to disappear forever so he wouldn't have to deal with it everyday. It was hard. Controlling the need to feast upon human flesh, listening to muscles and tissue tearing off one by one as it snapped off of bones. How exciting.
The blonde man sat himself in the Night Club once more despite his best of wishes. He had his forearms crossed on the marbled, shiny counter of the Bar. His masculine hand gripped the beer mug and sipped the golden alcohol from within the confinements. A content sigh gently heaved from his chest, relishing in the flavor and the taste it left on the back of his throat. A hand slowly pushed back his hair before taking another sip. How he wanted to escape this hell hole but still found himself coming back was beyond his understanding and belief. Maybe he still had that thought of understanding still drilled in his mind and stayed with him like some sort of plague that could never leave his sanity (or rather lack of). Why do I still come back? How dense am I?Andrew thought to himself before dunking the rest of the beer down his throat. With a sigh he sat there, staring at his reflection in the shiny counter beneath his arms. He swallowed the lump in his throat, hands holding themselves so his arms were slightly bent. He did not see a man nor a human. He saw the beast he was, inside and out. Saw the dragon head and the tiger pelt, scorpion tail and eagle claws. It suited him so well. He was a beast. Anybody who didn't realize it sooner or later was stupid not to realize it. It's what he was and always will be.
His poor daughter would have to be the daughter of a monster. His poor baby girl. Andrew slowly closed his eyes, wondering what his daughter would look like... Would it look like Maddy? Would it have his eyes? A shiver of fear gripped his spine at the thought she too would be a Chimera. Haunted by the never ending thoughts of being a monster, cursed to be thought as some sort of plague. His eyes opened once more before sucking in a deep breath through clenched teeth. It's going to be alright

blessed be the damned It had been a long day's work providing entertainment for the drunken mind that crowded the night club. Eponine would never quite understand why something as simple as dancing intrigued the men so. She was oblivious to the things that went on behind closed doors, and perhaps it was a good thing she had not yet been tainted by life's impurities. She found relief in stepping down from the stage when another dancer was ordered to take her place. How long had she been here? Her gaze went to the watch on her wrist, it was midnight. She had came into work at six pm, when the earliest of the drunkards drug themselves away from their hopeful wives to come and fulfill their own selfish desires. Clad in a pair of heels that caused her feet to ache, (apparently it was the recommended attire requested in the job description) she headed over to the bar, although not for any sort of intoxicated beverages. She did not fancy the odd smelling drinks, although she had never once tasted any liquor. Turning down the bartender's offer for a drink, she kindly asked for a glass of water before seating herself between two men of varying qualities. The taste of the ice cold spring water was welcoming as she brought the glass to her lips. A soft sigh escaped her as she set the glass back on the smooth countertop, glad to have the work day over for she was tired beyond belief. She was ready to leave and head for home, that is until she felt a masculine hand upon her bare thigh. "You look good 'nuff to eat darlin'. How bout you come home with me for a rompin good time?" There was an evident southern drawl in the man's slurred voice. Eponine found herself wrinkling her nose in disgust at the smell of whiskey on the man's breath. She gently pushed the man's hand away, feeling quite uncomfortable in response to the gesture. "I'd prefer for you to not do that, my apologies." She responded quietly, however that didn't stop the man from attempting to continue his touchy feely gesture. "Oh come on now, don't play hard to get..I'll chase you 'round the block if I have to..." Again, his hand was pushed away and the blond simply resorted to turning in her seat her back now facing the man. Unfortunately, that didn't stop the drunken southern man from quite literally breathing down her neck. The woman shuddered at the feeling, this just wasn't natural. It wasn't in her nature to act out in aggression, or in rudeness for that matter so she simply kept quiet, hoping that perhaps the man would tire of his fruitless game. That would appear to not be the case for the man so looped his arm around the woman's waist, "Hey, look at me when I'm talkin' to ya girly." He spoke in a huff as he forcefully turned the woman to face him, much to her surprise.

can the loneliness take the place of you Andrew didn't pay attention to the clack of high heels against the wooden floor. It all sounded like white noise in his head, pestering at him. It was just one of the things he didn't like about big crowds. They were just so frickin' loud that it hardly even seemed like words and more like just voices clashed together. The movement of bare skin flashed in the corner of his bright red right eye. Glancing over to squint his eyes at the 'entertainer' in the fairly dim light. After a good look at her face in curiosity he looked away, not even caring for the inappropriately dressed bare and lithe frame of the woman. Looking back at his reflection he drug his hands over his face, chewing on the inside of his cheek.
That is, until a nearby slurred and rather irritating voice slithered its way into his ear. "You look good 'nuff to eat darlin'. How bout you come home with me for a rompin good time?" A scowl twitched at his lips at the familiar invitation of the ignorant, hormonal, and utterly stupid drunken men to go bang a woman once then leave it at that. There really was no point in it. "I'd prefer for you to not do that, my apologies." He did not hear an angry shriek or a purr of a tease in agreement. He found a calm and polite decline, much to his surprise. Multi-colored eyes glanced over once more. "Oh come on now, don't play hard to get.. I'll chase you 'round the block if I have to..." Slightly hardened gaze watched the stripper constantly denying the drunken man any sort of pleasure in getting his stupid way with her. She seemed to be handling herself fairly well but he kept looking just out of the corner of his eyes.
Andrew was naturally the protective type. Not of men of course not. Men could take care of themselves quite well. Meanwhile most women would tried to be taken advantage of just because they're of the opposite gender so he found the need to protect them (if they needed saving that is). So when he saw the masculine limb tangle itself around the girl's hips, his pupils slitted with anger, blood boiling beneath the surface of his cool skin. "Hey, look at me when I'm talkin' to ya girly." A scoff formed on his lips before slowly standing up, hands curling into tightened fists. A soft growl formed in his mouth before towering over the seated pair and shoving his hands into the man's shoulders with powerful force. "Hands off, old man." The Chimera snarled, forcing his arm off of the woman either way and standing between them. "Best do as your told, wouldn't want to have to beat your sorry drunken ass."

blessed be the damned The situation had gone rather sour in a matter of minutes, Eponine was not usually one for conflict, unless backed into a corner. Due to her avian counterpart, she'd sooner take flight than fight. In this situation, however, it would appear as though she wouldn't get a chance to do either. She found herself being shoved aside as the man that had been sitting on her other side rising to her defense. Too surprised to comment or protest, she stood their in silence only to be shoved aside and out of the way by the drunken man's hand. "Who you think you are telling me what to do? I got myself a fine woman and I ain't lettin you take her from me." He slurred, stepping forward already feeling the need to throw punches at the man. Was a moment's pleasure really worth going at each other's throats? Apparently for every drunken man, that happened to be the case. Eponine's own slender frame had collided with one of the nearby chairs, the figure scraping her forehead, drawing blood. She looked to the two men, not quite knowing what to do. The other drunken men in the establishment simply either continued to gawk at the dancing women, or stood around the pair men cheering them on to fight harder, to go for the eyes, anything that suited their violent fantasies. "Please..conflict is not necessary.." She piped up, but her voice was drowned out by the shouting of Robert who seemed to be in some kind of drunken rage. The man had had one too many drinks that night, if anyone else knew his background, they'd know that he was never this violent. He left the violence to his younger brother, Rhyder, as for himself? He was dubbed the smarter of the two. Robert balled up his fists and threw them towards Andrew, spitting and cursing as he went. "Dumb shit can't tell me what to do. You just want 'er all to yourself, well I ain't sharing!" He cursed, shoving his hands at Andrew's chest in efforts to push him back. Eponine did not find any value or satisfaction in violence no matter who it pertained to, whether friend or foe. She rose to her feet and stepped in between the two for she wasn't the sort to result to being the damsel in distress. That had just become so stereotypical of modern age human women. "Stop this idiotic rage." She spoke, but her words were ignored, going out one ear and out the other. "Get outta my way." He growled, before sending a glance in Andrew's direction. "Know what? I'm leavin." He called, that is before he wrapped his fingers around Eponine's wrist and left through the back door out into the alley. It would appear that none of the drunken men in the bar cared too call the authorities, no once Robert had left the scene they returned to their joyful banter as though nothing had happened. There appeared to be no hope for mankind.

can the loneliness take the place of you Andrew only watched the anger grow on the man's face, all the while keeping a cool and calm-like composure on his own. "Who do you think you are telling me what to do? I got myself a fine woman and I ain't lettin you take her from me." A chuckle erupted coldly from his throat. "What you've got yourself here a load of bullshit, lady. Oh excuse me, I got your gender right, correct?" His voice came out more of like a threatening sneer, eyebrows furrowed and gaze narrowed. His ears caught the sound of a clatter behind him, making him glance back at the poor woman briefly "Please.. conflict is not necessary.." with a sympathetic gaze cast to the girl, he looked back at the intoxicated person.
"Dumb shit can't tell me what to do." A light scoff escaped him, hand going on his chest. "Me? Stupid. HAH, please, you shouldn't be talking bitch." The blonde man cooed with a vague hint of amusement. The man expected a punch or two to be thrown at him and craned his head slightly, feeling the collision of the fists against his hard chest but only took a few steps back. They were like little soft kittens hitting him compared to the anger and hatred that Emmett would throw at him. "You just want 'er all to yourself, well I ain't sharing!" Amusement, gone, replaced once more with the cold and distant yet furious glare settled on the man. "She wasn't yours in the first place. I don't want her but I sure as hell don't want her to get AIDS from you." He spat once more, letting clumsy hands shove him. He only took a few more steps back to cover the woman, pupils slitted in a reptilian sort of way.
"Get outta my way." A cruel smirk curled onto his lips at his shouting. "Make me." The man hissed once more before standing still, muscles tense and ready to throw his fists into bone. "Know what? I'm leavin." He didn't expect the man to still go after the same girl but when he did, his mind finally registered it when they were nearing the door. With a groan, he slunk after them, muttering. "Why the hell am I doing this? Where the hell is Dallas? Oh wait she doesn't even care and is probably banging some old dude in the back. How lovely." Andrew snorted before glancing back and shifting into his Chimera form. Scales raggedly struck out of his skin, tiger pelt sprouting along his back and ribcage. Wings split through his spine with a twisted snap and crack, blood quietly dripping from where they had broke through. Scorpion tail ready, he slowly slipped out of the door. He took a few paces forward, slinking in the shadows before spotting the pair.
The animal and rage inside fought to take over now. Eyes glowed bright with eager thoughts of tasting the blood caking his tongue, and the feeling of flesh ripping underneath his claws. He always enjoyed a good fight, even more so when he got to bite his prey. Dragon tongue flicked itself across his maws briefly before getting into a pouncing position. Front paws pushed forward, claws scraping against the concrete of the alleyway ground. This was familiar territory.. yes he knew of when he could corner his prey, trap it, then kill it. He had done this many times before in the woods and this would be no different. A smirk once more found way onto his muzzle before charging forward and leaping off of the ground.
Forelegs sought to grab hold of the man so he could clamp his jaws around his biceps in an attempt to do some damage. But he sought for more. He sought for the familiar metallic taste and red appearance of blood.

blessed be the damned When the heavy door had closed behind them, Eponine found herself wriggling free of the man's grasp. "Hey, where ya goin? Come back here!" The man called, stumbling forward as he reached for the woman again only to grasp nothing but empty air. The woman could feel her heart beating against her chest as she dove into the comforting shadows, the shadows that would cause her to become cornered. The only way out of the dark, damp alley seemed to be through the drunken man, or above. She did not want to take the risk of harming herself trying to run past the man, nor did she want to alert anyone if she took to the skies. Her blue eyes watched the scene carefully as the man stepped forward, and as if by some dark magic, his form morphed and changed into that of a lion. Although now, he appeared to look more hungry than lustful. "Come here you pretty little thang..I just wanna talk.." He called, his voice a mangled growl. Eponine shuddered in the shadows before forcing her own self to shift and contort into that of her griffin form. Her face was replaced by the likes of a white eagle, her frame becoming in the likeness of a white lion. She was a fluffy thing, although she fell short as being as magnificent as the likes of her kin. She was a runt, standing no taller than a young child's first pony. "Stay away from me, please. This chase is futile...can't you see that? I am of no use to..." The griffin had her wings folded against her sides, but by the way she was fidgeting she seemed just about ready to take flight. The creature's flight would be hampered quickly as the lion pushed forward, claws outstretched to rake them across one of the avian feline's wings. A flurry of now blood stained feathers fell to the ground, as the lion looked quite pleased with himself. However, the lion shifter's intoxicated rage would again be cut short as he felt claws against his own limbs causing him to cry out in surprise. Eponine shied away from the bloodied scene, desperately wishing to fly away, but she did not want this other strange man to risk his life over her own. Phillip had done such a thing for her at one point in time, and in doing so he had lost an eye. Robert hissed in response to the chimera, but he was confused. "What the fuck are you two? What kind of shit is this? Fucking monsters." He shouted, looking from the chimera and griffin, both of fabled fantasy, yet somehow worlds apart. The lion wasn't quite sure what to do between the likes of the two creatures, although he knew damn well that he wasn't going to fly away. The chimera was larger, more intimidating. While the griffin was smaller, and appeared to be more fragile. His gaze went for Eponine, he had set his mind upon doing away with her first. It would appear that his own sexual fantasies had been brutally cut short by the appearance of monsters, perhaps he had had one too many to drink. Robert lunged at the white griffin again, his ivories sinking into the likes of her shoulder. The griffin cried out in response, only to finally force herself to take up the offensive, her talons grabbing the lion as she raised up on her hind paws, shoving the lion away from her. With a blood stained maw, the lion snorted at the griffin although he felt quite proud of the damage he had done. "Get outta my way freakshow." He growled as he glared in the direction of Andrew. "You two can walk right back into your Red Riding Hood storybook. Go sit on a wall, and I damn hope they don't put you fuckers back together again." His words made no sense, and even in this form his voice was slurred. Eponine shifted her weight to her other three legs, her bright blue gaze watching intently. She was gradually growing tired of being the lion's chew toy, and it was evident that she didn't want any more to do with the matter. Limping forward, she reached out with a front claw, raking it against the lion's hide. "Be gone you vile monstrosity." She voiced, her growl a mixture of something both avian and feline. The lion appeared to be fed up with the nonsense, and deeming it not worthy he soon dragged himself out of the alley, knowing full well that he was going to have one hell of a hangover the following morning. Once she felt as though she was safe, the griffin forced herself to regain her human form. The wounds upon her didn't seem to bring alarm to her as she addressed the chimera. She had never seen such a creature, nor did she know of the ancient old rivalry between her kind and his own. "I am aware that you did not have to do what..you did..but I must give you my sincere thanks regardless. I am Eponine..if you do not mind, may I inquire of your name?" She asked softly, although her words came slow as though she was gradually becoming tired.

Andrew might of been a monster. Whether that was good or bad was beyond his broken heart and mind's comprehension he would never dare to dream of ever figuring himself out. But right now it was not the time to sulk. He was on the prowl, hungry for this man's blood and by god he would get it. As long legs stretched forward to stalk in the shadows, blue and red eyes pierced the darkness, he watched blood splash onto the ground. And while it wasn't from the person he hoped it to be, it was still a delectable sight. But it angered him further. The sight was the fuel to his fire and with that, he flapped out his feathery wings to charge out. Dashing across and covering ground, he tackled the feline to the ground with a unnatural roar that bellowed from his scale-covered neck.
Large muzzle snapped forward the catch his jaws around the feline's ear. Teeth sunk in, dragging fangs across the now bloodied ear. Tugging on it until his fangs slipped off, his tongue slowly dragged across the blood covered teeth. A smile found its way onto his lips, curling a grin onto his scales quite easily. "What the fuck are you two? What kind of shit is this?" A dark chuckle rumbled from his throat. "Foolish man." He spat before dragging a single claw into the lion's cheek, ripping it out once he found it necessary. "Fucking Monsters." Pupils decreased to dots lost in a sea of color. He knew he was a beast but he didn't like being called it. "You have no idea." The Chimera muttered under his cold breath. Before he knew what happened the bastard had somehow slipped from underneath him and went for the Griffin. A shriek escaped him in anger and fury before chasing after him. But it seemed the mythical woman had pried the drunken man off in time for him to stand defensively in front of her. His own muscular and masculine frame towered over her own, muscles tense and ready to attack. "Get outta my way freakshow. You two can walk right back into your Red Riding Hood storybook. Go sit on a wall, and I damn hope they don't put you fuckers back together again." An eyebrow raised in both amusement and confusion. "How about you crawl back to whatever hole you slithered out of, asshole." The Chimera purred, a sly smirk making its way onto his face.
"Be gone you vile monstrosity." Andrew walked right beside the little creature with chest puffed out in a dominant manner and lips pulled back to reveal his white teeth. Deep growling erupted from his mouth, nostrils flaring in dissipating aggression and rage. Once his stupid golden pelt was out of sight, he shook out his pelt and turned his head to the now shifted woman. "I am aware that you did not have to do what.. you did.. but I must give you my sincere thanks regardless." A sheepish and shy little smile worked on his muzzle, eyes darting away briefly. "Ah.. i-it was nothing... I didn't do much.." He murmured, claws curling and uncoiling against the concrete ground. "I am Eponine.. if you do not mind, may I inquire of your name?" Slowly his jaws parted, almost surprised she didn't know who he was. Most people did because he was infamous for his attacks of anger and hatred. "I'm.. I'm Andrew." The beast murmured quietly before glancing about. "Would you uh... like me to walk you home, Eponine? I understand if you fear me though.." His voice was quiet, hardly a murmur but still trying to be welcoming all the same.

Fear him? Eponine tilted her head slightly to the side, wondering if perhaps the beast was joking but there wasn't any hint of humor in his voice. "Fear you? Why would I ever do such a thing? Do you fear me? I am quite the oddball." She cracked the smallest of smile to further prove that her words were sincere. She stepped forward and gently brushed her fingers against the chimera's muzzle. "I am of Griffin blood, you are of Chimera blood? You did not have to jump to my aid like you did, but I greatly appreciate your valiant heart, Andrew. Thank you." Her blue eyes studied the creature, as though marveling in his uniqueness. She was ignorant to the supposed hatred between her kind and his, and even if she knew? She'd probably still disregard such childish boundaries. Casting her attention towards her injured shoulder, she frowned. She could feel the pain etching up from her spine where her wings normally would have formed when she shifted. Luckily, she was a strong individual and typically refused to reveal her weaknesses to others, it was a dog eat dog world out there after all. "But if you would like to accompany me to my humble abode, you may. I would greatly enjoy the company on this dark night. However, that is only if you do not have important matters to attend to, Andrew." She spoke softly before stepping forward towards the end of the alley way, that is before her knees buckled underneath her and she dropped to the ground without any form of warning, out cold. Andrew saw the curious tilt of her skull, making his eyebrows quirk upwards slightly, "Fear you? Why would I ever do such a thing?" Eyes slowly brightened, a smile curling onto his muzzle. This woman... she.. she didn't fear him! She wasn't afraid nor did she know who hew was! Oh this was the most joyous of days! He couldn't believe it, there was somebody who wasn't afraid... "Do you fear me? I am quite the oddball." A chuckle rumbled from his throat, body relaxing slightly as his muscles eased beneath his pelt."No, of course not. You seem like a nice woman, Eponine." He quickly reassured with a bright grin plastered on his face. Nobody had ever actually welcomed him and thought of him as brave. Maybe she could be his friend? His tail slightly swished side to side like a wag at the thought.
Warmth was spread throughout his facial features as the tingling sense of fingers gliding against his scales. "I am of Griffin blood, you are of Chimera blood?" He nodded with a grin. "You did not have to jump to my aid like you did, but I greatly appreciate your valiant heart, Andrew. Thank you." His cheeks flushed ever so slightly at her compliments. It was nice being called a hero of sorts by Madelynn but by nearly a stranger? It was amazing! "It... It was nothing, really.." He sheepishly answered, a curled claw pawing at his forehead. Shaking off his slight embarrassment, he looked to her wounds with a more concerned expression. "But if you would like to accompany me to my humble abode, you may. I would greatly enjoy the company on this dark night. However, that is only if you do not have important matters to attend to, Andrew." He shook his thickly built skull. "No, not at a-" His voice was cut short when his blue and red gaze watched her crumple right there on the ground. Eyes widened before rushing over.
"Eponine?" His voice was barely a murmur. Oh god if she was dead then he'd lose his only chance at being accepted somewhere. Eyebrows curved upwards, his muzzle extended down to check her pulse. With a relieved sigh, he nuzzled her briefly before dipping his neck underneath her stomach and allowing her body to slide onto his back with ease. Going back to his height that was basically like a horse, he towered over the ground and lightly jogged out of the alleyway, heading towards the direction of the neighborhoods. Bright eyes pierced the shadowy darkness as he stepped into the moonlight, squinting before continuing on.
