life does not always give lemons AND WHEN IT DOES, IT IS EVER SO BITTERSWEET Summer was a bitch.
It was the worst of all the seasonings, she'd sooner want to freeze in the cold of winter then have to do with boiling heat of summer. Like, what even was the point of summer besides it forcing people to go to the beach and get buck ass naked? The blond haired woman was forced to put on a tank top, sporting a sports bra underneath. A pair of jean shorts went along with the outfit, and she despised it all because she felt like a whore. Out of all the things, Sienna was not a whore. In fact, she had never kissed a man, let alone slept with one. No, whenever she crushed on a boy, Dallas was always sure to take that opportunity away from her.
She had found herself working as a bartender at a strip club called Puzzles, although she had yet to meet the higher ups, she had been hired by one of the lower managers. Perhaps it was best that she didn't know either of the owners. With a half hearted sigh she approached her beloved stallion's stall, the black equine shoving his nose outside of the stall door. The horse nickered and neighed, but Sienna didn't understand him. Well, at one point in time she had actually understood what the stud was saying, but those days had long since been erased from her memory. But, she never could forget Dallas of all people.
The stallion appeared ecstatic to see the woman nevertheless, which invoked a smile from Sienna. No human had been able to bring a smile to the woman's face, sadly thanks to her supposed best friend, she had lost that right. "Hey Light, you look like you don't wanna be cooped up in that boring old stall, right? Let's take a ride out to the lake, I'm sure you'd love a good old natural horse spa, hmm?" The stallion nickered with apparent delight, pawing heavily against the stall door. "Alright, alright hold on." She laughed as she clipped a lead onto the stud's halter before leading him outside of the stall.
Sienna had not even bothered to greet anyone else in the barn, that is outside of the equine population. She had caught glimpse of a man earlier, but had simply walked passed him without a word. The woman didn't bother to tie up the stallion, she trusted that he wouldn't wander away. She exchanged his nylon halter for a bitless hackamore before heading down the aisle, the stallion stepping lightly mere lengths behind the woman.
Unfortunately, it would seem that Light would cease following the woman, finding something quite interesting along the way. The black stallion had stopped and was nosing eagerly at a stranger's back pocket as though something had piqued his interest. "Light, what are you doing? Come on!" The woman called, was that a tone of desperation in her voice? for @lochlan| 519 words | | notes this was supposed to be 300 words| credit JELLYFISH PRINCESS |

an open book with a torn out page He would have liked to say that he spent a fair amount of time with his horses in between his his career and attempts to forget. He spent the majority of his leisure with them, choosing their well-being over a social life any day. But the reality was, there wasn't enough time in the world for his two bratty mares, and that was saying something considering he could slow things to his hearts content. The key word there being 'could'. He'd not touched his abilities with a ten foot pole for quite a few years for due reason, the same reason in which he spent the majority of his time at work, to forget. The further he could get from his past the better, and if that meant acting as a human then so be it. But unfortunately that meant just that – being human. Even if it meant it waiting through his horses temper tantrums. The filly, Quil, was the worst of the three, understandably. Just verging on the edge of three the little bitch of a horse thought it was her god given right to boss everyone around, including him. Groundwork seemed simple enough, right? It started off normally, with a good grooming. He’d brought the filly up from the field to tie her to a support beam in the barn – god knows the animal would break crossties. By this point in her growth she’d nearly reached her full height, and much to his dismay, all of the strength of a full grown horse but half the training. It was not as if he’d let her do what she liked for the past several years.. Not on purpose at least. Regardless she got her way. He begun dragging a brush over the filly’s curly coat, more or less ignoring the others in the barn. The faces were all more or less white noise to him, there weren’t many that had anything to say to him anyways. It wasn’t long before Quil grew quickly bored, tossing her cream colored head sky high to jerk against her restraint. ”Goddamn it Quil don’t you dare.” The man grumbled immediately, eyes filling with vague interest towards the scene, which he’d all ideas was about to grow worse. He reached a massive hand over to yank on the leadrope in which tied her but soon became distracted by the movement by his pocket. He dropped his hand and turned curiously, hazel eyes focusing upon the black horse. ”Hello to you too.” The man found a brief, nearly inaudible chuckle rise in him before he grabbed a spare horse treat from the pocket to offer to the stallion. It was then he noticed the woman, gaze trailing over to watch her as she begged the animal to move. She was beautiful, that was for damn sure. His jaw parted for several moments before snorting with light amusement, ”C’mon now, I’m not that b-“ His statement was cut off with the shrill and all-too-familiar whinny of Quil, blaring loudly above his head in order to address the stallion on the other side of him. Lochlan turned back to the adolescent horse to see her struggling against her halter now, pulling backwards in a desperate attempt to free herself. ”You’ve got to be kidding me.” The pinto filly rose her tail and lashed it furiously in defiance but within seconds discovered she wasn’t capable of escaping and cast the man a near-glare. The man rolled his eyes and returned his attention back to the blonde now that his horse wasn’t trying to bust the barn down. ”You’ll have to excuse her.. you know teenagers.”TAG: @sienna WORDS: 635 NOTES: words

Summer evening breeze is blue Drawing voices deep from you Lead by a beating heart, What a year and what a night, What terrifying What was it with people trying to communicate with her this week? And all of them being men. She didn't know which gender was worse anymore in all honesty. When the man began to address her Sienna's eyes widened slightly as she tugged on the stallion's lead, but she simply didn't have the strength to pull away a thousand plus pound stallion when he didn't want to move.
Sure, the man was quite handsome in his own birthright, but she wouldn't dare say it aloud let alone think of it willingly. When she heard the shrill whinny of the other horse, she almost jumped, the sound catching her off guard. "Oh. Well. Um. I'm s-s-s-sorry." She stammered quite awkwardly as she watched her stallion turn away quite quickly, having gotten what he wanted from the man. The black stallion dragged his hooves back to his owner's side, munching loudly in her ear on the delectable horse treat that had been presented to him.
The black stallion paid the filly no mind for she was much too young to capture his interest even in the slightest. Instead he focused on dropping crumbs upon his owner's bare shoulder. "Teenagers? No..sorry. I don't.. Uh.. Well. I'm sorry for Light..he uh. I guess he..well. Bye." Her words came out so awkwardly that she almost sounded like a lovestruck woman who was too shy to get her words out to confess her affections, but that couldn't have been any further from the truth.
Deciding that now was the best time to make her escape, the jeans short clad woman turned quickly and started to walk away, her horse's lead in her hand. Unfortunately she found that what was on the other end of the lead wasn't moving like he was supposed to. No, instead the stallion had his hooves planted, it seemed as though he had savored the taste of the treat and was looking to receive more from the strange man. Sienna turned around and looked through fearful eyes, she didn't want to take any chances. However, her stallion had other things on her mind. "Please Light...let's go.." She pleaded her horse, who simply acknowledged with a flick of an ear as he ran his nose up the man's pants leg.
Sienna looked down to her now trembling hands, quickly shoving them into her pockets, shoving part of the lead along with it. She didn't want anyone to point out her horrible social anxieties, she didn't want to be made fun of, nor did she want to relive past experiences. But for now, it seemed like she was stuck between a rock and a hard place, thanks to her lovely stallion.

an open book with a torn out page Despite his appearances he was a compassionate man at heart, and although often paying no mind to his impulsive speech he couldn't stand to watch somebody's discomfort. A desperation such as this womans' only brought out that side of him that wasn't often used, especially with his career of choice. His face fell from all signs of humor rather quickly given that he assumed it was him that had upset her. "What? No, you don't have to apologize." He insisted quickly in an attempt at reassurance, now paying no mind to the horses as he watched her carefully. Being guilt-ridden by nature he found a guilt quickly settle in him as he watched her impatience to leave. "I wouldn't be here if I found the horses offensive in any way..." It was a good thing too because the obnoxious filly behind him soon squatted and relieved her bladder right on the concrete walkway. The man groaned in exasperation and quickly moved out of the way, venturing closer towards the horses front end. When he returned his attention to her he noticed her attempts at fleeing and that said attempts were ultimately futile. In a strange way it was satisfying as he didn't quite want her to leave, he had to make amends for whatever he thought he had done. "You don't have to go, I'm not going to hurt you." The words slipped out before he had a chance to collect them and he paused momentarily. She was not some sort of prey animal. Damn it. He drug a hand over his face and as his eyes refocused on her he noticed a fearful expression. What was she so terrified that he was going to do? Knock her upside the head with his brush box? Order his bitchy filly to pee on her shoe? He hardly had an aggressive bone in his body and that was one he only preferred to use in the work place, comparatively speaking to the rest of the population he was probably one of the better choices for company. His expression softened significantly as he released a relaxing breath. "I'm sorry if I scared you somehow." He glanced down at the womans stallion as it's muzzle brushed his leg and he smirked a bit. "What's his name, Light?" A hand descended to gently push the animal away before producing another treat for him. "Well, I'm Lochlan and this is Quil.. she's obnoxious and I'm a bit rough around the edges but I promise we're not all that bad."TAG: @sienna WORDS: 441 NOTES: words

Summer evening breeze is blue Drawing voices deep from you Lead by a beating heart, What a year and what a night, What terrifying She might as well be classified as a spooked animal by the way she was acting. Indeed she was either afraid that Dallas would appear out of seemingly nowhere, or that someone would end up hitting her, probably the former. Unfortunately, her stallion wasn't going to go anywhere, he had picked the worst possible time to be a stubborn ass. The filly relieving herself upon the floor didn't even get a reaction from the woman, not even a smile.
Sienna watched through fearful eyes as the man drug his hands down his face, what had she done now? Had she said something inappropriate? Her gaze shifted to the concrete aisle floor, her voice mumbling quietly "No..it wasn't you.." Perhaps the man hadn't heard what she had said, whatever the case she hadn't meant to speak her thoughts aloud.
A little life came to her eyes at the hopes of changing the subject to something more appealing to her at the moment. "Y-yes. Light. Although..h-he doesn't look very 'light' does he.." She gave a small laugh, before she shifted her sad, tired blue eyes towards the taller man. She hadn't really asked to know either of their names, but did she really want to be rude? "O-okay.." She responded after a moment's silent (rather awkward silence at that) from her side.
Should she really introduce herself? The younger woman bit her lip in contemplation, a terrible habit she had grown to have over the years. "I'm Sienna...I was just a-about to take Light out to the beach trails.." As soon as the words came out of her mouth she regretted having said them in the first place. She didn't want anyone to come seek her out, what if word got back to Dallas?
Her hands came out of her pocket as she dropped her horse's lead, although her stallion paid no mind for he was too busy stealing from a horse's hay net in a nearby stall. "Please don't hurt me...I didn't mean to....please..." She pleaded as she covered her eyes with both of her hands, "I'm sorry..I'm s-sorry.." She murmured as she succumbed to a panic attack, and quite clearly didn't know where to go. Should she run? Should she stay? She felt cornered, although she clearly was not.
Sienna felt the eyes of an incoming boarder in the back of her head, giving her quite the disapproving look as though they thought she was some kind of psychotic. But she wasn't anything of the sort, no Dallas had just made a nervous wreck out of someone whom had been perfectly normal. Without anyone having to say a word to the woman, Sienna found herself trembling in pure, untouched fear.

an open book with a torn out page The guilt he felt in the matter relieved itself significantly but his concern for the woman did not, especially so after his words didn’t relieve her stress any. In fact it seemed to increase as the seconds grew on. A knot of sympathy formed in the man’s chest as his eyes roamed her saddened features. What was she so worried about? Although her words reassured him he still couldn’t help but feel responsible for the matter. ”Sienna, it’s nice to meet you.” He replied gently with a tense smile. It was almost odd to use the more sensitive side of himself, it was one he’d nearly forgotten about as the drama filled weeks rolled on. It wasn’t exactly encouraged to act like a teddy bear while shoving around drunken men. Not much of any positive emotion was required for his job, perhaps that’s why he found such a connection to it, it required little thought. Hazel eyes wandered from the woman to watch her horse cautiously so that he wouldn’t stray too far off, the last thing he wanted was to cause the stallion to flee the barn and get hit by a car. Seeing that he was occupied he reverted his attention to Sienna and his own horse, slowly lifting a hand to drag it down Quil’s neck. But her next words made him freeze. His blood ran cold as he quickly glanced over at the blonde, the nasty realization flooding him and making his heart sink. ”H-hurt you?”The man’s brow knit and his own dull eyes attempting to search hers but finding them covered as she hid from… what he wasn’t sure. ”I-I’m not going to hurt you.” He took a step backwards in case she believed him to be aggressive in any way, his jaw clenching as he watched her closely. ”Is somebody..”He looked over her head now, dragging his eyes over the barn aisle as if some evil lurked nearby, searching the pathetic human that would dare lay a hand on a woman. Or this one in particular. She was just so… broken. His voice dropped now so that roaming ears wouldn’t find interest in overhearing. ”Are you being hurt?” He didn’t care if he didn’t know the woman, but he did care about the fact she was on the verge of a mental breakdown and he’d only given her his name. He wanted to help, needed to help in some way. ”I’m sorry I have no business..asking that.. I don’t know you from atom… I just want to help you..”TAG: @sienna WORDS: 460 NOTES:

Summer evening breeze is blue Drawing voices deep from you Lead by a beating heart, What a year and what a night, What terrifying No, she wasn't being hurt. It was a figment of her imagination. Oh how she wished that could have been something that she could say. If only, but life just wasn't that forgiving. She was shaking, trembling due to the fact of something had happened long in her past.
Why couldn't she forget? All she had to do was stop thinking about it and then it was disappear from her thoughts entirely. But no, life didn't want to be that simple for her. "N-no..I'm sure I deserved it somehow. I'm sure. I shouldn't have tried to look at things that were hers.. I want to get back at D-Dallas I want to so bad...but I'm so afraid...terrified even..." It hadn't even crossed her mind that she had allowed the vile woman's name to slip from her mouth.
Sienna took a shaky breath, but found herself not being able to calm down as soon as she would have liked. "I.." She started, but soon realized that she'd soon that she would have to retrieve her medication. Her hands had become too shaky, her words too broken, why did her mind insist on panicking to this extent? Without uttering a single word she reached for her stallion's lead and quickly moved down the aisle, showing the stallion back to his stall where she clumsily closed the stall door behind him.
Where was her bag? Where had she put it? The young woman moved with frantic steps towards the bag that sat on a nearby bench, to where she reached in and retrieved a bottle of prescribed medication. Luckily for her, this actually remedied her issue, although the nasty side effect was that it often gave her horrendous nightmares. Anything was better than suffering through the living nightmare that she was struggling through at the current moment, however. Without wasting any more time she downed the required dosage with water provided by the bottled water she kept handy within her bag.
As she sat down on the bench, her hands resting on her knees, she found herself not being able to look up to meet the newly acquainted man's gaze. She was embarrassed that someone else had to watch her become nothing more than a frightened child, looking for help but then not wanting it at the same time. "S-sorry...you m-must think I'm insane...most people d-do nowadays." Including herself, although her therapist had told her otherwise. It was simply a panic disorder from traumatic events in her past that she had never been quite able to shake.
The medication that she took would apparently work only for so long. Apparently, the best remedy was to face her worst fear face on, but did she really have that much faith in herself to actually go through with it? To come face to face with a bully turned criminal?
"I'm afraid... She whispered to herself, no matter how much she prayed to whoever laid in the heavens above, her fear always remained. |

an open book with a torn out page He wouldn’t know what was ailing her but he did know that he could relate, the memories and fear of the past attacking his every move, attaching itself to his every thought so that nothing but the fear remained. Although his was of the different sort, not a fear of someone but something; death. And more precisely, what it left him with. The terrible memories resurfaced every night while he slept and brought the sorrow to the surface, his loss, and what he’d ultimately face again if he let himself go to that extent. So he would remain to his self, go about his job and hope that one day the past would escape him. Though perhaps this woman had a different idea on her mind? Dallas The name was not all that common and rang a faint bell in his head, images of his workplace flicking before his eyes. A stripper maybe? Sure as hell sounded like it. The truth was he didn’t gave a damn who it was but what that person had done to the trembling woman in front of her. Her words were little more than babble to him considering he hadn’t a clue as to what was going on her mind. Nonetheless it was important babble; he listened intently to her as she confided in him, though one thing never quite made sense. Deserve it?He grew silent as he attempted to piece together the pieces of her words. Was she trying to discount her own abuse as her fault? The man didn’t know if he was more surprised by that or the fact that such a pretty woman had been so badly damaged in the first place. His brow furrowed further before he eyed the shorter, and panicking woman. But nothing but concern filled his eyes as he glanced about the barn another time. Was this normal for her, did she normally collapse into a heap at the mention of this particular person? ”Hey.. you’re alright.” He replied soothingly, leaving his impatient filly who was now pawing noisily at the wall. But no mind was paid towards her, the blonde was of much more importance to him at this point. ”This.. person..she isn’t going to get to you here.” Though he wasn’t even sure himself, who the hell was it? How was he supposed to know where she’d show up? His teal eyes caught sight of her moving towards her bag and the impulse to help filled him, luckily his brain talked him out of moving forwards before he could manage to scare the poor woman further. Her voice reached his ear again and he felt his tension fade as he sat on the edge of a nearby tack trunk, sparing her more than enough room should she chose to flee. ”Insane? I just met you, who am I to judge your sanity?” He snorted lightly. ”But this? You’re not crazy.. you’ve just been caught in a bad situation is all.” His own memories flashed before his eyes but not of his pain but of his childhood, days spent tussling with others not for the enjoyment or the aggression but to protect others.. and this seemed to be a similar situation. ”I know you don’t know or trust me,” A sigh left his massive frame as he leaned to rest his elbows on his knees, eyes never leaving her. ”But I’m here to help you if you need anything.” But in all honesty, as he watched the poor damaged woman, he wondered how it was possible for her to get along with everyday life, could he really feel right about leaving her to fend for herself in this state, especially with some abuser looming about? Summer evening breeze is blue Drawing voices deep from you Lead by a beating heart, What a year and what a night, What terrifying The woman forced herself to take a deep break, the man was right. No one was going to come here out of the blue in an attempt to bring harm upon her, Dallas wasn't that desperate. Well, she hoped anyway. At first, she didn't say anything in response to the man's comforting comments, instead bring the bottle of water to her lips, quietly contemplating as she waited for her hands to stop trembling, for her mind to stop freaking out.
It was a painful process, panic attacks. Your mind couldn't decide as whether to fight or flee, instead trapping one's self in some sick living version of purgatory that would slowly eat away how you saw the world. Seeing fears in things that you had once found comfort in, even the simplest of comforts instilled fear into one's heart. "I'm sorry. Thanks, y-you're too kind. Truly you are. I-I'm Sienna." She finally introduced herself, it was about time she gained some manners, against no fault of her own.
Her attention shifted as she heard the loud, impatient nickers of her stallion from within his stall. She had promised him a ride to the beach and here he was holed up in stall like some kind of criminal. "Ah..I was supposed to g-go ride out to the beach trails with Light. H-he loves the sand, the gulls." She spoke softly, cracking the smallest of smiles as she reminisced about the last time she had rode the stallion out to the beach.
There was nothing but peace out on the shoreline, not even the hustle and bustle of the city in the distance that disappeared behind the horizon could bring a worry to frightened, fragile hearts. Sienna sighed quietly, she had promised the poor horse, although he probably didn't know what the heck she was saying, it was still a promise and she had broken that promise. "Sorry for uh..freaking out. It-..yeah." She didn't want to explain, she didn't want someone to think she was crazy because she was afraid of her own damn shadow.

an open book with a torn out page He was a kind man at heart but nobody came without some baggage and he was no different. He had his moments, days, weeks even; although preferring to keep his buried underneath alcohol. Already she had revealed (what he had assumed to be) a sensitive topic and he’d not uncovered anything of who he was, but perhaps it was best this way. He had no indication that they would progress anything further than acquaintances and he wasn’t about to dig up his problems just for the reassurance of a stranger. Even if he did find this particular stranger to be rather cute. Now that the womans panic had fled he relaxed significantly, although still eyed her warily as if she were about to go into another episode, it was only a natural response. It wasn’t exactly his fault he was hard-wired to care. Her hair color, of all things, certainly didn’t help. It was like a plague, these memories, resurfacing with every little thing and one of which was hair color; blondes specifically, it was always the blondes. Just interacting with the woman set him on edge as his thoughts threatened to take a dive. But at the same time it was like a weakness, he was unable to ignore a woman in pain. His eyes dulled as he drug a hand over his facial features. What would happen if something happened to her in his presence? ”Nice to meet you, Sienna.” He replied with a small smirk, a small gesture that quickly faded to his normal solemn expression. Learning that an innocent woman had been tortured wasn’t exactly something to be pleased about on top of an already placid demeanor. ”Don’t apologize, it’s not your fault… I understand.”
He flicked his eyes back to the dark horse as Sienna took her attention from him, now that she had calmed he took several moments to study the animal although he wasn’t necessarily the most knowledgeable horse person in the world, hence his filly’s awful behavior. ”I’ve been meaning to get Quil off of the property recently.. I don’t know, I thought it might be good for her..” He returned his attention to Sienna somewhat hesitantly. He wasn’t a necessarily shy guy but last thing he wanted to do was upset her further. ”Mind if I follow along?” The man stood and strode back to the Curly mare that chewed on the nearby stall door. He lightly shoved the filly’s velvety nose away and chuckled when she pinned her ears at him. ”I promise she’ll behave.” He reassured Sienna, although the devious glances Quil sent the lot of them showed otherwise. ”Well, I guess I can’t promise anything but I’d like to hope she’s able to act civil for an hour or so…” He cast a glance over his shoulder. ”That is, if you wanted company.. I don’t want to intrude.“TAG: @sienna WORDS: 500 NOTES: words

i am a flower quickly fading Perhaps a horse ride with someone would ease her nerves. The blond looked at the man with a nervous glint in her eyes before slowly nodding, "C-company would be nice.. Light doesn't exactly talkback.." An uneasy laugh came from the woman, but it was at least an attempt at calming down. "I'll go get him." She spoke as she basically jumped up from the bench and hurried towards the stallion's stall, almost tripping over her own feet.
The stallion poked his head out of his stall looking as though he could have said, 'Back already?" before nickering quietly. "Change of plans, friend." She murmured quietly to the black stallion as she ducked into the stall deciding to ease her english saddle pad and saddle onto the stallion's back instead of riding bareback as she had originally intended. After checking the girth twice, she slipped a headstall over the stallion's head, the dark equine gladly accepted the snaffle D-Ring.
Delicate hands grabbed hold of the leather reins and led the stallion out of the stall, his shod hooves clip-clopping lightly upon the barn aisle. "O-okay. We were going to h-head out to the beach, if that's okay with you. If n-not we could go where you wanted?" She asked as she looked towards the man for an answer, slightly avoiding the man's gaze yet again before leading her mount outside of the barn.
Light bobbed his head lightly, rubbing his face against the woman's arm rather affectionately. "Oh, I'm alright Light." She murmured quietly before moving aside and placing her booted foot into the stirrup, swinging up into place in the saddle. She gathered the stallion's reins in her hands and waited for the man to catch up with his own mount before nudging the stallion into a walk. "I'm u-used to Dallas showing up when I talk to guys. She'd seduce them, and then she'd punish me later for t-talking to them in the first place." She heaved an uneasy sigh, her hands tightened around the reins, still believing that the woman would appear at any moment to knock her off her high horse so to speak. 382 words @lochlan | poor Si D=

an open book with a torn out page The man felt a smile touch his features as the woman agreed, and was that a sigh of relief? It was as if he was pleased to be able to keep an eye on the damaged woman. He had only known her a full five minutes and she had already pulled at his heartstrings. Could he really be blamed for wanting to show her that not all humans were the devil reincarnated? Hazel eyes watched as she left for the stall before turning to his own horse and grabbing a brush to finish off what he had started before the woman’s episode. He drug the brush over the palomino’s curly coat and he snorted as the cloud of dust filled the air – damn filly had probably rolled before he’d gotten her out. ”Must you make everything difficult?” He asked with a sigh. Before long the man had settled on clearing the area for the saddle and left the rest, he couldn’t be bothered, especially if they were just heading to the beach. He allowed his mind to wander as he grabbed his saddle and bridle from the tack room and easily slid it up onto Quil’s back, although not without some squirming involved. ”Quit it before I give you something to squirm about.” He threatened in a nearly inaudible growl. He tightened the girth quickly and easily on the all-purpose saddle and slipped the bit into the filly’s mouth. He turned to check if the woman had finished with her own horse and discovered she had already left the barn, to which he promptly followed. The filly required a bit of coaxing to make her way out of the ‘safety’ of the barn but eventually obliged. He threw the reins over the horses head and gripped them tight as he mounted, Quil bracing against the metal object in her mouth and swishing her tail but receiving only a laugh from the rider. Why did he even have mares again? Oh right, because they were rescues. He ran his fingers lightly through the horses mane before allowing her to walk off. Although his expression of amusement quickly faded as he caught up to the blonde and listened to her words, it was quiet out and her shaky voice rang clearly through his mind. He frowned deeply and set his reins in one hand as the filly eagerly paced along beside the stallion. ”Damn.. I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you.” He apologized, turning to focus on her after surveying the environment as if somebody was going to waltz up and terrorize the poor woman further. ”This woman sounds like a bitch…you don’t deserve any of that.” The man glanced down. ”Well, she can’t get to you here. I guess you don’t really need a ‘babysitter’ but, I’m here and I wouldn’t be opposed to giving her what she has coming to her, if she tried to lay another hand on you.”TAG: @sienna WORDS: 480 NOTES: words

i am a flower quickly fading The black stallion seemed to have acquired a new interest in the man's mount, insisting upon stretching out his neck so that he could nip lightly at the painted mare's muzzle. His rider paid no mind, as she found herself conversing with Lochlan. A little human contact never killed anyone right? I suppose.. She thought to herself quietly, her early medications having calmed her down for the day, if only a mere length from going over the edge so to speak.
She almost wanted to list a million and one apologies just for the sole reason that she made Lochlan feel bad. "W-what? Oh no, please don't be sorry. It's all m-my fault, really." It was something that she had tried to engrave into her mind over the last couple of years, to place the blame upon herself instead of the true culprit behind her days of torture and abuse.
Lochlan's comment came off to her as comforting which enabled her to give a light giggle which quickly grew into full blown infectious laughter. "Oh, that shouldn't be funny. But..ah..I'm just h-happy someone cares." She spoke after her moment of laughter had quieted, a small smile left in its wake. "I do think that I deserved it though..honestly. I mean..I shouldn't h-have been talking to people that..bel--..no people that she considered as hers." One could not put ownership on a living human being, it was unnatural. But it was how Sienna interpreted how Dallas interacted with both other individuals and the likes of herself.
Her attention shifted forward as her mount's pace quickened to that of a trot. "He smells the saltwater." She spoke quietly as though to explain her horse's quick change in speed. "I..oh." Before she could finish her sentence, her mount picked up his speed into a delightful, spirited canter and gave a small buck when his hooves hit the sand, almost unseating his rider. "Woah, Light. Calm down, no need to go c-crazy on me." She spoke to her equine companion as she gathered the horse's reins although she soon found herself jumping off the horse's back as he insisted on buckling his knees and taking a good roll in the sand.
The woman sighed with disappointment but soon got over it as the black stallion got back to his hooves, his frame now coated in light particles of beach sand, and pressed his face into the woman's chest, nickering quietly. "Enough about my...boring past. I don't want to seem so s-selfish and self-centered, what of your life, Lochlan? I-if you don't mind me asking.." She asked shyly, why did she find herself blushing in the oddest of situations? In order to hide her apparent timidness, she moved around her equine, attempting to hide from the other side of the taller equine.
Her plan would have worked out fine, that is if it wasn't for the stallion walking a few lengths forward, finding more interest in pawing at the soft ground, kicking up sand towards Lochlan's mount. "Oh boy, Light." Sienna spoke with a sigh as she found her own self sitting down a little ways away in the sand, intrigued in a snappy crab that walked back in forth in a line, snapping its little claws as it went about its business. 582 words | @lochlan | :3
