I hold sunlight and swallow fireflies… Meara was exhausted. 11 hours of flying is never fun, especially when its riddled with anxiety and doubts. What was she thinking packing up her home land and just moving to the States?! She felt like she stood out in the crowds of bronzed, fit, supermodel types. For one, her hair was like a blazon beacon atop her head, screaming “I don’t belong here!”. Then her pale complexion that gave away the fact she did not spend any time in the sun. Meara was also in her comfortable travel clothes, which were wrinkled after she had just sat in a cramped plane for the better part of the day. They were nothing in comparison to the short skirts, high heels, and fancy jewelry Meara saw flashing around the airport… and on the way to Los Angeles…. and pretty much everywhere. All Meara wanted was to sit and rest and get a good cup of coffee. The short read head stepped out of the cab and onto the sidewalk in front of the Daily Grind. With a sigh, she pushed her way into the air conditioning and into the line to order. When it came to her turn, she ordered a Soy Chai Latte. Meara nearly cringed when her thick Irish Baroque sounded harsh against the California accent. She quickly slunk away to the side, trying to avoid eye contact with others around her. Upon getting her drink, she found a table settled in. Meara wrapped her hands around the mug, happy for its warmth in the cool air of the building. Taking a sip, the red-head allowed herself to gaze across the crowds and take in the sights of a coffee shop in sunny California.
