A LIFELESS FACE THAT YOU'LL SOON FORGET
❝
IT WAS FAIR TO SAY AT THAG MOMENT, he didn't give a flying fuck about the man who'd taken refuge in the corner of his living room like an abandoned puppy who'd given up on finding a home. In his eyes, the guy was a grown man who was fully capable of making his own choices and could find his own girl. But, with a sideways glance to the dogs that had curled around him, he almost seemed nearly as satisfied. Maybe he was just good at hiding his sorrows. Poor guy. Some other day, when there wasn’t a woman distracting him in every way possible, he’d take the poor chap out. But today his snores were simply white noise, blocked by his mind in order to focus on Sienna’s silken voice.
So, he'd always been a bit of a pushover, and her cries for distraction nearly crumpled him. He could relate to the emptiness, the void within his chest... But her pain was a whole new realm of despair that he couldn't fathom, one of betrayal and wrongdoings that nobody should've ever had to suffer. At the very least he felt obligated to take her pain in any way he could. Her tears were like a straight dagger to his heart and he practically cringed, removing a hand from her waist to gently brush away the tears on her cheek.
Soon though he found her words enough to pause his hand right where it lay. His palm flattened against her damp skin and he dragged a gentle thumb over her cheek. He knew then that this girl could have probably asked for the damn Eiffel Tower and he would have found a way to get it for her. What, with those big puppy dog eyes pleading him so desperately. She very well could have been playing him, but let's be honest, he probably wouldn't have cared much anyways.
He felt a gentle smile tug at his features after hearing her confession, but it was soon covered as he reached to kiss her again, lips salty with her tears. He was delicate about his every movement, naturally, but even so with her mood swings and the anxiety that was leaking through her drunken self. He focused his teal irises on her, their jade-flecked depths filled with confusion. Quite honestly, he didn't know what the hell to do. But he did know he couldn't leave her like that.
"Shhh." He soothed, his arms wrapping back around her waist, and with gentle movement he lifted her and himself off the couch. He didn't seem to mind the closeness the embrace required. "C'mon. Let's not wake them up."He gestured to Sleeping Beauty and the Beasts in the corner of the living room as he turned the opposite way, heading to the back of the tiny house where the man could have peace. Unfortunately, this room happened to be his bedroom (or was that fortunately? He couldn't tell. He had pure intentions, really). He set her down at the corner of the bed and took a seat beside her, only to press his lips reassuringly to her own again. "Whatever you need, Sienna." He laid a hand along her feminine jaw and kissed gently at the base of it, everything screaming at him to back away but he quickly found he couldn't, with her words still filtering through his mind, accompanied by her desperate cries it's like he'd become a robot, moving from someone else's control. Or, perhaps, just of an urge he'd stifled for way too long.
