A true outlaw finds the balance between the passion in his heart and the reason in his mind. That outcome is the balance of might and right. He had finally done it and something he never thought that he would go and do, but he went and took some of his time and took over ownership of a racing farm. He loved the look of it. Gazing around from one way to the other. Unsure of just what he was going to do, but he knew he could learn the ways more than the little bit of lessons he had taken when he was with an ex girlfriend when he was younger. Though here he was taking the chance at it. Looking around at the massive land that he owned. Knowing that there might be a possibility that everything could go well here. Making an extra living from doing something instead of the bad things like he had done in the past. Smiling a bit as he fixing himself before he made his way down to the barn. His eyes looking around the place as he moved down towards the barn. Walking into it as he took in the smell of the hay that lingered in side and the wonderful smell of leather.
He enjoyed it very much. Pausing by one of the stalls as he moved his way over towards it. Laughing a bit as he thought of the past but right now he had to think about the present and of course what the future might just hold for him. What things might he get into if he kept on this path that he was going. So with that he moved to the side and took off the vest that he had on. Hanging it up on one of the bridle racks and then went into one of the tack rooms and grabbed a pitch fork and headed into one of the stalls. Trying to keep himself busy as he began to clean out of the stalls to kind of get them straight and ready for any horse that will be walking onto his barn.
Though Dimitri was really thinking about the little mare he had put in an application for. He wanted to get his hands on her while she was young and to teach her down the right path instead of her falling into the wrong hands where she could end up ruined like some horses do when every they are adopted and then sold again. So of course he was cleaning this stall out just for her but of course would pause every now and again to look outside to see just who might come out and into his barn. |

She finally felt at peace. That haunted feeling was now only a lingering ghost in the back of her mind, rather than the past year. It had been eat, hunt, run and survive because she was never, ever going back. She'd been waiting for just an opportunity like this to really free herself from her sordid past. She had been a ruthless financial guru, all apart of one's training when learning to take over for a large pack, but she'd used it to grow some private wealth on the side. She'd been using some funds to help her live the past year, but had yet to even barely graze the surface of her wealth. It wasn't necessarily something she needed, but it helped when you were living a life on the run. Money could accomplish a wealth of things, but she knew better than anyone it didn't buy happiness. So when the opportunity had opened up for her to buy into a owner's share of a local racehorse stable, she'd taken it. Hesitation wasn't her style.
She'd always loved her horse back home, a true regret to have left her behind, but this stable was just the place for her to blend in, establish herself and strengthen herself for when they finally found her. She was done running. It simply could no longer be in her vocabulary. She parked her truck at the front entrance of the barn and nodded with approval around the estate. It had the bare bones, the structure for greatness and regardless of whoever her new partner was, she'd work damn hard to make sure it happened. Speaking of partners, she yet to meet the other half to this dynamic, but she wasn't really worried. She'd briefly looked at his name on the paperwork, but she'd hadn't given it much thought. She was willing to stay in her lane and he in his. She knew how to handle people in general and she wore her confidence easy like a cloak. She stretched as she slid out from behind the wheel, black boot clad feet hitting the gravel. She patted her hands on her worn jeans, her loose black tank giving relief to breathe in the intense afternoon sun. She let it warm her skin briefly, blue eyes closing as she bathed in the rays comfort. She inhaled deeply, her senses taking in the smell of nature, horses and hay and...
Her eyes snapped open and an almost feral snarl ripped from her lips, the growl rumbling low in her chest. Werewolf. She smelled him and if she could smell him, then he could smell her. The question would be, was this wolf friend of foe? Well, it was time to find out sooner rather than later. She tracked him down, blue eyes flashing, body tense and ready for whatever. She finally found the source and stopped in her tracks, staring and taking him in. He had the shaggy look, long hair that either needed to be cut or run your fingers through - she wasn't sure which at this moment. He was trim and lean, but muscled, a typical werewolf body. Her eyes flashed in challenge as she crossed her arms and tilted her head with an aggressive jaunt. "You mind pointing me in the direction of whoever is in charge here?" She said a silent prayer and hoped that for her own sanity it wasn't him.

A true outlaw finds the balance between the passion in his heart and the reason in his mind. That outcome is the balance of might and right. Dimitri continued to work in the stalls. Placing down new fresh sawdust upon the floors of the eight stalls that he had been cleaning in all morning. Even putting in fresh water into each of the stalls when he had finished. Though he also had gone and placed hay down into one of the stalls. Since he had finally received the call he had been waiting for almost all morning. Hearing that his approval had gone through for the pretty young mare he put in an application for and was on the way to his place. Then of course he had remembered the Fjord he looked at and kind of felt bad at the fact he could not get him just yet.So he knew that he would have to go and save up some money and bail him out if no one got to him before he could. Only to give him a good home and of course give Dimitri a bit of company. Though right now he had to push that to the side and finish what he was doing. Moving on to cleaning the tack room up a bit more than it was so that this barn looked a bit better than it had been looking.
Though theree was something that had caught his attention while he was cleaning. The sound of a truck pulling up and parking not to far from the barn had gone and caught his attention. Peeking out for a moment before he saw the sight of a woman that was getting out of the truck. Turning and walking back into the tack room before he thought out loud to himself. "Maybe this is the Co-owner I have been waiting on?" Then something had ran through his mind as he seemed to sense something go through his mind. He really had not sensed anything like this since his family had pushed him away. But of course he shook his head and ignored his thoughts before hearing the sound of the woman's voice entering into his ears and the sound of a loud nicker.
He just put a smile on his face as he turned to the lady. Looking down at himself for a moment before looking backc up towards where she stood with a smirk on his face. "Well, your looking at him." Replying towards her question with that smirk still there. "I'd shake your had, but I've been working all morning. Though I am guessing that you are the lady that I have been waiting on on showing up?" He questioned as he walked over to the vest he had hung up. Grabbing it and then slipping it on before looking back over towards her.
"I'm Dimitr by the way. Ah excuse me for a quick moment. The other lady I have been waiting on is here." Speaking as he heard a loud nicker ring through the barn aisle. Walking past the lady and taking in a deep breath of air to let his brain register it as he spoke to the gentleman that handed him the mare's lead rope. Exchanging a couple words for a quick moment before turning back to the girl and leading the mare over towards him. Then stopping for a moment while he looked to the girl and then back over towards her. "Sorry about that. I've been waiting so long and didn't not expect for her to come at this very moment." He spoke real quick before leading the mare back into the stall. Undoing the lead rope before turning and leaving her in the stall. Then moving back over to the lady before hanging up the lead. "Why don't we go ahead out here and sit down for a bit on the bench and speak?" Asking as he looked at her then to the opening of the barn and thne back to her. Then his brain clicked into gear as he started over to the barn's opening. She was like him. A werewolf, the beast of the night. |

Why the hell was he acting so damn calm?! It was almost enough to set her off, but she was a master of her emotions. She veiled her frustrations with instead a curious tilt of her head as she listened to his deep rumbling voice and watched with trained eyes as he slipped on his vest. A biker. She arched and eyebrow then at the self confident smirk on his face. Either was slow on the uptake of her aggression or he was genuinely clueless about what she was, about who she was...and that wasn't such a bad thing. Anonymity was better than a knock out drag fight.
So this was it then. She'd fled her former life to end up in a business bed with only another of her kind...this could either be a good thing or a terrible disaster. She cocked her head in a gesture that was canine curiosity, her inner wolf perking up as they watched the man move. Dimitri. She knew his name, had seen it on the paperwork she'd sign, but it was proving that the paper Dimitri and the fleshly Dimitri were on two very different planes of reality. It was one thing to just look at a name on some legal documents, but it was turning out to quite something different to meet the actual man. She'd spent her life around their kind and he was giving off all the vibes of a chilled and laid back personality, which threw her. The males she'd grown with had been eager to prove their dominance, aggressive. They had kept her in peak form fending off challenges and all, but this guy, this Dimitri was acting as casual as could be. Cool, calm and collected without a care except to bring in his new mare.
Bizzarre didn't even begin to cover the way she was feeling right now. He was an enigma and that didn't set entirely too well with her need for control. Unknown entities were wild cards that could seriously bite you in the ass if not properly explored. She'd made her bed though and sunk serious cash into this partnership and now she was going to lie in this bed and own it. It was time to get to know this wolf and feel him out. Would this be a constant battle? A struggle of wills and ambitions? Or would they see eye to eye? Her face was an impassive mask as she watched her tenderly lead his new charge. The affection for the horse was apparent and that at least was a good general indication of his nature. She'd nodded to him as he'd excused himself to get the mare and now he was returning, gesturing to a bench to sit and speak, grow acquainted and then she saw the realization dawn in his eyes. "Took you long enough," she snorted and turned her back on him to walk with a calm and easy stride to the bench. She sat gracefully, leaned back and crossed her legs with her right arm casually stretched across the top, gesturing for him to sit with her left. "I'd say that our conversation just got a bit more complex, what do you think Dimitri?" Her blue eyes flashed with challenge, her smile almost predatory, but her body was the picture of relaxed confidence. It was all clever deception, her body ready to spring into lethal action at the slightest provocation, but she would make no moves if he didn't. They had to make this work. She needed this partnership to work because she wasn't running anymore.
"Come and join me Dimitri. I am Raegan, your new partner...and I think we both need to have a nice chat about what our expectations are here." Her inner beast took in the male specimen with such an interest that bordered on annoyance for the woman. She internally hushed the lusty creature as she stared down the man, waiting for him to pick up the gauntlet.

A true outlaw finds the balance between the passion in his heart and the reason in his mind. That outcome is the balance of might and right. Dimitri could see that something was up with this girl. Not able to fully point it out in plain view. Well only since his mind was in a total different place and worrying about getting this place going like it should be. Knowing he wouldn't be able to do any of it without having a staff member come into view and join him. Seeing how today he was meeting with his co-owner, which was a plus, and then the next couple of days he would be having some small projects he would need to do. An of course to top to all off, he had a manager that he would need to meet with by the end of this week. Oh how things made him very happy when they fall into place. Even though he still was curious about this lady with how she made things feel so different than before.
Pushing things to the side as he paused and waited for Rae to sit down. Noticing the gesture that she made to sit next to her. So he nodded and sat down beside her. Leaning his back against the corner of the bench and his right arm hung over the back of the bench with the other holding him up a bit as he listened to her speak. Ignoring a bi of the first words since he was in thought. Though of course he went ahead and registered the rest in his mind that had come his way.
"Yes, yes we really do." Smirking for a moment as he thought of a few funny things to ask but he pushed them away and continued to speak. "I want this place up and running like I heard it use to. With horses in each pasture and even some used as boarding pastures. Though may I ask that you please tell me the bit of experience that you have with horses and running a business?" Questioning her as he could feel his body getting odder as he continued to sit beside her. It was almost like his wolf side was wanting to come and show its true form to her. Though he wasn't completely sure just why. Since he knew that he could not straight up ask if she was a werewolf or not. Then again after sensing that this girl was like him he almost wanted to ask her, to finish putting two and two together about her. It was just something that ran through his mind but he needed to finish speaking to her about this place rather that going to past things again.
"Do you own any horses yourself, Raegan?" He questioned her again as he wanted to get his mind some where else and figured that this would help a bit. To try and calm his thought and clear his mind so that he would not change like he had done once before now. Almost not being able to turn back as quickly as he normally does. He also knew that if next time he was to change again. . .well. . .he knew that it would take even longer for him to back to a human . An he was not going to allow any of that to happen. He had way to much on his plate to even change and be stuck like that for so long. |

Maybe he didn't get it. He trucked right along asking about the business side of things and if she actually had any business experience or with horses. She almost bit through her tongue trying to hold back her retort. He obviously wasn't the kind to be blatantly direct it seemed. She had scented him the moment she'd walked into the barn and he was too damn absorbed in his business to notice. I guess it was a good thing he was taking this seriously, especially since she'd sunk a large chunk of cash into this place, but she found it extremely hard to discuss business when there was a werewolf taboo sitting to be discussed on the table
Her and her wolf were one. They had a healthy relationship, one in which the human side was master, but the wolf got her say and she was saying too much for her to just ignore right now. She tried to listen to his words, but the she-wolf was growling and snarling on the inside. She couldn't sit her and just smile and pretend this was like having a simple tête-à-tête with an old friend. Her smile was more like a grimace in response to his questions, but she kept it together like the good bad-ass she-wolf that she was.
"Yes. Yes I have experience and yes I own horses. They aren't here yet." She nodded as if done, but sighed and knew it wasn't his fault that her wolf was being such a bitch right now. She decided to let the stick out of her ass for a moment. It wasn't his fault that she was leery of any of her kind...all it would take was for one person to snitch and she'd have to tuck tail and run...but no. She stopped those thoughts. She was done running and he obviously had no idea who she was. It was almost refreshing.
"I grew up riding and all that jazz. Competed hunter jumper. I've recently decided to put down some roots and had the change to spare, so here I am. I'm thinking though, that you may be the more driven of us to get this place running on the day to day functions." She teased lightly. His love of this barn was apparent, the horses too. He couldn't be all that bad.
She studied him closely. He was not the typical horse guy. Not with this whole "biker vibe" thing he had going. Part of her wondered what he'd look like with a hair cut, but he was able to pull the shaggy 'i'm a biker -rawr!' look to a decent degree. She wanted to scoff at herself. Since when did she care what her partner looked like? It wasn't like she'd be shagging his bones anytime soon.
What the hell was going on here? Not knowing where they ranked hierarchy wise was driving her wolf insane and so she did what any alpha like wolf would do - take charge. "So. I'm going to be frank and upfront with you. I scented you the moment I walked in. You're a werewolf aren't you?" Her blue eyes were like hard cut diamonds, begging him to deny her so she could quickly refute the lie. She didn't work with liars and this all needed to be put out in the open if they had any chance of working together at all.

A true outlaw finds the balance between the passion in his heart and the reason in his mind. That outcome is the balance of might and right. What was Dimitri suppose to do? He was just starting a business that he wanted to be successful. It was just something he was wanting to do. Pushing back his wolf side so that he could get this done, but of course it continued to try and push himself out. Only wanting to be able to enjoy his life for once and hang up this vest but so far he could not do that just yet. Then his ears listened to the worlds of this female as she started to speak. It seemed that his questions definitely not amused her.
Though he did not care at this point. Listening to her words as she moved on to the experience she had. She did mostly English it seemed. Which was perfect in his eyes since he did need someone with English riding abilities. Shifting slightly as he watched her carefully. She was looking over him almost like he was prey or something. This made him very uneasy and his wolf side really wanting to come out.
All Dimitri wanted to do was to go out and finish what he needed to do. Then she started to speak more into his direction. 'So. I'm going to be frank and upfront with you. I scented you the moment I walked in. You're a werewolf aren't you?' Oh yes she was clever and right to the point. Grinning devilishly as he looked at her and then looked out to his land. Shifting a little bit before looking back over towards her again.
He slowly moved a bit as he sat up more and bent over. Putting his elbows on his knees and clasped his hands together as he looked down and peeked over towards her again. "I might just be since I could tell as soon as you walked in yourself. Though by how you act you are a higher up aren't you?" He questioned as he looked at her for a moment and then standing up and looking around. Taking his self and looking around for a moment as he was not wanting to fall into royal's hands. He knows just what happens when you run into a Royal.
He knew he could not escape this. Taking his eyes and putting them onto her and seeing that something crazy was going to happen. Shifting his mind from place to place and seeing nothing happening just yet. Waiting to hear just what this girl was going to do or even was going to say towards him now that he let out that he was a werewolf. One thing he did not want anyone to know just yet but of course she could figure out with just a sniff.
