[attr="class","nref"]He was home now, but his family was not whole yet. He had learned that Madelynn had given their baby to his brother and his girlfriend to take care of when he was away for the several months he had disappeared. He was set on bringing his family back together. He had to take his child home. He was home. Her father was home and he couldn't wait for tonight, although bruised and bleeding he made his journey with Madelynn to Cherry Grove. He wouldn't leave her behind, not again, not ever would he do such a thing unless he had to. Unless it was a necessity. The reason he had snuck out that night was pathetic and he couldn't feel guiltier about it. The list of mistakes he made was to simply feed his demons. To make him brood and sulk until he couldn't think of anymore mistakes he had made. His sins was long. But life was brighter. Once it was black and white where the only light was the red of his blood, but now it was brighter. The moon shone without a cloud in the sky despite the dropping temperatures. He could see the white stars. The dark navy blue expanse above his head. He saw the world in color. The brown and crunchy grass, although dying still beautiful in its last efforts. The red-spectrum rainbow painted upon the leaves of the autumn trees, red, orange, and yellow splashed across the limbs as it covered it in life. This was all so new to him. He saw not in grim and dark, but in life and gratefulness. He had never realized how much he had until he had nothing except for himself and his thoughts. Those days he spent in that cage, up on that stage, he had learned something. He had learned that he had something no other man could. Something that nobody else could treasure as much as him. How close he held it to his heart. That was Madelynn and that child. Nobody else had somebody as wonderful as her. As precious as her. As special as her. She was everything and without her he... he was so lost. Her touch was his map, her gaze was his north star, her heart was like a fountain of youth. He had never experienced true love, but he knew it was with her. He never knew about true friendship, but he knew she was his best friend. She was practically his only friend, besides the few companions he had found upon his long rocky road. His own brother wasn't his friend... and that saddened him... even more so as his house came into view. He remembered when Emmett had first moved in, when boxes still littered the wood floors. When they still had a chance to be family. When he had sucked up his pride and said sorry, but he only returned a grunt. He had every right to be mad at him. He would hate himself too. He had torn the man's leg for christ's sake, and in return he had shot a bullet through his thigh. Emmett would never walk right again, how could he live with that? How could he live knowing that the separation between him and his brother was... his fault. Emmett had moved to get away from him. Get away from his bullshit and his lies, and instead of letting him free, he followed him as if chains strapped his feet to the ground by his presence. He had disrupted his life and he could never forgive himself for that. Many times he had not seen Emmett as a brother, but an enemy. And now? Now he... he just wanted to have his brother back. He crept to the back of the house, looking for any openings. He saw a crack in a window, the curtains behind it slowly and gently flapping through the room. He stuck his muzzle underneath it and pushed it up a little bit more to sniff in the room. There he could smell his child. Her scent was all too familiar, all too heavenly, so fresh and so... innocent. Slowly he lifted the window up with his talons and barely slicked his large scaled body through the open window. He stumbled into the room, talons hitting the carpet floor with a thud. He winced softly "dammit..." he muttered before stalking towards the two beds, one had two lumps together and the other only had one body. Unaware of the baby monitor sitting in between the two beds on its bed-side table, he crept slowly and lifted the blankets to reveal Emmett's children. He slowly put it down as they groaned slightly. He only had a matter of time before his brother or his girlfriend would come in the room. He snuffed out the other bed to find his child, curled underneath a blanket. Tears swelled in his eyes as he gazed at her sweet, innocent face. She had no idea what was happening, nor would she remember any of the trauma that could of affected her. He slowly drug his talons over her cheek lovingly, to which she slowly turned her face and squinted her eyes at him. "....Dada!" She squealed before wrapping her arms around his neck. He quickly whispered to her "Shhh, we have to go now, Adi." He told her to which she nodded to and he crept to the window, adjusting the child so she sat high on his back. | [attr="class","fwea"]I am heaving [attr="class","fwea"]through corrupted lungs |
